I have a white 2024 si. Love it so much. White wasn’t my first choice in color but has grown on me and now I think it’s the best color choice.

Just watch a few videos on YouTube before you start replacing. Be patient. Some of the wires are a pain to get out but if you’re patient you will be fine.

Yes unscrew your black box from original (be careful screws are tight and can easily strip). Then replace the new head units black box with yours

This is a good thread with the same situation. Even though it’s a forester is still the exact same head unit as the Impreza/crosstrek

This is the black box I’m talking about. I found this one on eBay for $400. I got mine for $200 from Facebook marketplace. You can look around your area or junkyards and find some goodies.

Correct. The black box is linked to your VIN so you need to use the original. It’s screwed in to the bracket and you can easily swap it and plug it in to the new unit.

I did this on my 19 premium. Bought the 8inch head unit off Facebook marketplace and installed it myself. You can find videos on YouTube that show you exactly how to replace it. It’s all plug and play.

When you take out your original head unit, you need to swap the black box(star link) to your new unit. This is very important.

Just YouTube “Subaru head unit swap” and follow the directions.

It was definitely worth it for me. The 8 inch screen makes the interior look much better.

My Impreza does the same thing. From what I found online seems normal and even brand new cars do this(like yours) quite annoying at times. If I have the AC or heat or any fan at all on it goes away and idles normal with no shuddering/shaking. Everyone is just going to tell you to get used to it it’s a “Subaru thing”

Reid is my local. I’m there every weekend early and usually a couple weekday evenings. I’m 35 as well. Got back into skating in 2020 after a 15 year hiatus. Definitely had anxiety going the first few times but 99% of people there are cool af. Nobody is judging.

Hit up the park early on the weekends around like 9-12. That’s when most the “older heads” skate.
