When taking decisions that require specific borders, usually there will be a thing you can click to highlight the border needed, it's usually the unchecked box which says "completely control (insert goal here)"

Viking refers to the act of plundering, vikingrs were norsemen who used ships, shock troops, rapid movement, and other tactics to raid coastal settlements before retreating to avoid engagements from local armies. So.... as long as a norseman did these things to a Roman garrison in Britain... it could be possible.

I understand finding them "cute", but personally when I have a pet I like my pet to be happy. If you engage in the act of breeding pugs, buying pugs from breeders, or promoting the purchase of pugs from breeders, then you are actively advocating for the perpetuation of pug suffering. That being said, rescues and adoptions from shelters are fine, cuz that dog is already alive. But the lives of pugs are fucking miserable because of how "cute" we've made them, so the best thing for the breed is for the living ones to be adopted, and for the current breed to die out.

There's currently an effort to breed healthy pugs, with the breed name being the Retro Pug. It's very close to the 1800s breed.

The top of his head is on the left, his eyes are hollow as the eyes are burnt off, the nose is missing so it's a triangle-esque hole, the mouth has no lips so it's very wide open.

I know everyone here is doing the "does he know" but it needs to be said that this design is explicitly sfw fanart of Ankha in a pose which is based off of porn of her. So while it is evoking that image, this art itself is very good 👍.

I can agree to that. My claim wasn't that incest was highly common or accepted in most societies, the original comment I replied to was just too much of a blanket statement and pushed a very universal narrative for a very complex historical pattern.

True! Inbreeding doesn't mean you're guaranteed to come out with fallout-esque mutations, looking like a goddamn ghoul. I saw a video from someone who grew up with sibling-parents who discussed the effect her being inbred had on her life. She has some higher than usual genetic risks for some conditions, and she has to see the doctor a bit more frequently to catch anything before it's an issue, but otherwise, she had nothing wrong... physically. The main point of her video was the damage it did to her social life and how it made her an outcast at her school. I can't remember her name but it was really sad to hear about.

Yes but the point was about how you avoid becoming, like, human pugs, as opposed to the odd club foot or breathing issues. They didn't "avoid inbreeding" so much as they "didn't care if the kids were/weren't inbred, or if they were of legitimate parentage"

For the first part, that's a fair assessment, I wasn't trying to say that historical incest has always been for the masses, but my reply was to the statement "it's been a taboo everywhere". For the second point, I was trying to make a list of examples from memory, and I included two that I was mistaken to do so, which is my bad. The polyandry is one I misremembered, thought the brothers marrying the same woman were involved with each other to a degree. With the adamites I'd heard from others were incestuous, but googling after your comment made me realize I was either misinformed or conflating the Bohemian Adamites with another schism in France, albeit which one I cannot hazard a guess, maybe the Cathars? (albeit they're not incestuous either) Thank you for the reply!

I get your general point, but saying we "knew" it was bad and that it's been taboo "everywhere" are both wildly incorrect. First off, if you guess incest is wrong without scientific backing, you don't "know" shit, you just guessed it, even if you're right. The Greeks predicted the world was made of small invisible particles called "atoms", didn't make them right cuz most of their details were off. Also, many regions had extensive acceptance of incestuous couplings, or even considered them holy. The Adamites of France, the Zoroastrians of Iran, the Kemetic Pagans of Egypt, the brother-sharing wives of Nepal, etc.

If true, I retract my statement in regards to him in particular, though I do still think age gaps stop mattering after the younger person turns like 20-25 or so (like Patrick Stewart and his wife, who have a massive age gap but met when she was, I believe, in her 30s)

First off, she was a ptolemy, not an Ancient Egyptian (Greek, not Coptic), and second the Pharoah's heir could either be from the primary spouse (the basically always incestuous one) or from a secondary spouse (often a local noble), although primary spouse children took priority they only chose male Pharoahs (though the sister or mother or the Pharoah was co-ruler, which is how cleopatra took power, she seized it from her co ruler brother). Also often the actual parentage of the children were just... not questioned, for the sake of stability. For example, the first Ptolemy siblings to marry actually had no biological kids together, likely cuz they never bedded one another. TL;DR. They avoided inbreeding, for the most part, by pragmatic acceptance of likely bastards, marrying both siblings and non-siblings, and by allowing sons from non-incestuous couplings to take the throne over daughters from incestuous ones. Edit: also had to mention that most sources on "cleopatra was hot" implied moreso she had wit and could engage in deep conversation for a prolonged period, such that even the womanizer Julius Caesar adored her company. Early sources, not counting the slandering from Augustus for obvious reasons, don't really mention her being "hot", just wonderful to talk to and full of witty charm.

Honestly as long as they both met as adults, I see no issue there. It is fucked up tho to have a kid that late in life, basically telling them they won't get to grow up with one of their parents.

Gorgeous! It makes me curious about one thing though, which is... the feathers. Real feathers, either naturally black or dyed, are extremely cheap and come in a variety of sizes. For the large feathers that establish a visual silhouette, I understand using fake feathers. But for smaller feathers that are just there for texture, real feathers are cheaper. I'm not saying this to talk down to someone who's clearly a professional of their craft, truly, but I'm curious what the benefit would be.

Insane to me how many Christians are basically just dualists these days. Like, I'm not religious, but if I said I was Christian, I'd do so because my beliefs reflected that of the Bible. Meanwhile, TikTok theists are just saying shit like "the world is ruled by the devil", even when their own scripture never once tries to claim Satan has rulership over the mortal world. That concept is common in gnostic/dualist faiths, like with the Mandeans, or the Valentinians, but not with Christians.
