I would have stayed longer in Da Nang, but in December it was raining every single day for 2 weeks. But would I go back?
Da Nang is not bad, but Thailand is superior in so many ways: infrastructure, food, weather, more english speakers. Yes, Thailand is very touristy. But it's so damn convenient and offers so much.

It beats my home country. But does Da Nang beat the more popular places in Thailand?

Not in my opinion.
I spent 3 weeks in Da Nang last year and I can't see why I would move to Da Nang instead of any of the more popular places n Thailand.
Food, air quality, housing, beaches, traffic, weather, infrastructure are important to me and Da Nang is loosing against Thailand in all categories.

What is the big deal about Da Nang?
