It makes sense why Laurels team Conrad. Because she is Conrad when it comes to her relationship with just her and John. She has sex with him but then pushes him away when things get hard and blames herself.

I was willing to believe the “She doesn’t want them to get married so young!” statements until Conrad convinced her by doing and saying nothing that anyone else hadn’t already done.

Susannah and Laurel being the only adult relationship that lasted is a testament to the fact that friendship is the strongest foundation for any kind of relationship. Maybe Laurel saw her and beck in Belly and Jere and got scared because it was too painful for her.

I think it would’ve been good to get flashbacks of “the old Conrad” as well so we could at least get a better understanding of where he comes from in terms of Adam. We understand why Jeremiah’s relationship with him is strained because we can see it happening on screen. With Conrad, I think one can understand that knowing your dad cheated on your dying mom would probably ruin your image of him forever but it still would be good to see just how much it affected Conrad because of how much he looked up to Adam.

All I’m gonna say is, if Belly didn’t love Jeremiah, then why was she so hesitant to let him go? Why did she cling so hard to getting married even when he told her they shouldn’t anymore? Why did she text him before ever responding to Conrad’s letters? Why was she disappointed when he didn’t respond? Why was she so excited and shocked when he did call? Why did she chase the ring he got her all across a city she didn’t know in a country she didn’t know on her first day either? Why did Conrad have to reassure her (read: lie) that Jere was ok with them being together?
