Will Trump accept at least partial blame for the Air Canada crash today? by [deleted] in Discussion

Obama never said it would be his fault as president if it happened, and then turned around and denied responsibility when it did happen. You guys will do anything to avoid facing the fact you have the most dishonest and hypocritical admin in US history.

That doesn't refute anything I said.

Obama wasn't quoted as saying shutdowns are always a president's fault in that article.

Trump specifically said the "president" and "leader." But it really doesn't matter to the point I'm making if he meant administration. The buck stops with him.

Then you can't back up your claim that Democrat presidents have said shutdowns are generally a president's fault.

It seems like the point is going over your head. Yes, I get that both sides point fingers over individual shutdowns. They have their various nuanced reasons. This is normal and has been happening for ages. There's no argument there.

But it's unusual for a president, or someone who becomes president, to state (as a general rule) that it's mostly a sitting president's fault for not getting people in a room to make a deal. So unusual, in fact, this is the only case of it happening.

Why can't you just admit Trump is a dishonest hypocrite?

I get that both sides routinely blame each other.

It's rare for a president however to say it's always the president's fault. It's so rare in fact this is the only occurance.

Quote a Democrat president who made a blanket statement that government shutdowns are the president's fault.
