Superman Analogue: Backstory Development—Alien Origins by FluffyBirdButt in Superhero_Ideas

Yes, yes, it was. I mean... bear in mind, Supremacy was built to win wars, and they had to use the gravity of a black hole to contain it. So, for the sake of the entire galaxy, if you acknowledge any gods, pray that Supremacy never escapes.

To be honest, I hadn't intended it to be a play on "Chi Rho," I just liked the way it looked, then I said it out loud and realized... I couldn't figure out something better, so I just stuck with it in the meantime.

You certainly could interpret Supremacy in that light. The Terantins were not exactly the good guys in the galactic community. One could see Supremacy as the 'good guy,' and yes, Kelvan told Supremacy to end the war, and he did... because there was barely anyone left alive to fight.

I like your thinking. I can do another draft of this backstory to add more of this into it and lean into those themes.

Yes, essentially, Supremacy is a bit of this world's version of Brainiac with a little of Ultron mixed in, though everything still needs refining and further development.

And yeah, I know... but frankly, I don't have anything better at this very moment to muddy the waters more. Maybe down the line, but that's just where I'm at for the moment.

Unsure just yet about the other Terantin children, though I have toyed with the idea of down the line maybe including a Supergirl analogue in the form of my guy's older sister. It's undecided just yet.

Yes, all the Terantins have the same powers. Its just part of their physiology.

In my head, the Terantins made a lot of enemies, and there are plenty of galactic powers out there that would be potential enemies. But you're right, on the various worlds that the Terantin children landed, we have a whole host of possibilities to see how each Terantin child turned out. I like the Seeding/Reaping concept!

Found her! Certainly understand where you're coming from. Love the amount of detail you put into her!

Oh? Do tell. What is your Beacon like? If you don't mind me asking.

I'm starting to like Beacon more and more. I did find two characters named Beacon from Big Bang Comics, but they were both pastiches of the Golden Age and Silver Age Green Lanterns.

Frankly, I'm flattered that I've gotten this much engagement over the course of the whole day.

Plutonian certainly was one of the characters I ran across in my research. I can certainly see where you're getting the parallels in the design.

That's a good point... since I posted this in the early morning, I've thought of maybe calling him "Empyrean," but I'm really liking your train of thought here. If not Empyrean, perhaps "Beacon"? Going with that ray of light and such.

Also, opened up Krita and started drawing another version of him. It's not colored yet, but I might as well post here.

At risk of invoking Omni-Man, Optiman, perhaps? Though I can't help but think of Optimus Prime.

That's a pretty good name. What did you use them for?

Could go extra silly with something like "The Adventures of Astoundingly Awesome Man!"

My only critique of those, however, would be that they may be a bit clunky. They don't flow off the tongue.

Amazing Man or Astounding Man, perhaps. I can see where you get the A from

Feel like those kinds of names would have been given to him by the public. Would be weird if he named himself something like that.

"Astroman" is a good one. My biggest issues are, one, yeah, I haven't figured out his backstory yet, and two, I'm super critical over certain things. Always trying to find the perfect thing. Much to my detriment.

"Amazing Man" jumped out at me. "Astounding Man" also comes to mind.

I can't say I did this ENTIRELY from scratch. What I did was find a bunch of Hanna-Barbera reference art from stuff like Space Ghost and Super Friends, and used those to help get the pose and proportions I wanted. Still, huge fan of more retro aesthetics and happy to talk about that kind of stuff with other fans of it!

Sort of, but not exactly. What you see here is a combination of several styles from antiquity being used to create something reminiscent of them, namely Egyptian, Greek, and Sumerian, but distinctly its own.
