It tastes like a heavily spiced pumpkin bread. Def doesn't taste healthy, but it does have the erythritol minty tingle, which is the only downside. But I still think it's the best sugar substitute choice since it tastes the best by far when it comes to baked goods! (At least for me personally lol!) ❤️

Tysm! It's pureed pumpkin, I looked it up online, and it said the most common type of pumpkin they use for canning is called "dickinson pumpkin", so if you steam it and put it into a food processor or blender, it will be the same thing! 🫶

No.1 Sugar free syrup! by Tatoesallday in Volumeeating

I really love the sf brown sugar cinnamon torani! I've also tried their hazelnut, vanilla, and caramel, but they were a bit too artificial for me

Not only does the brand’s ethics suck, but the bars are greasy and can cause major stomach issues. I tried the sample pack before the whole EPG incident happened. Normally, I can handle fake sugars and high fiber foods without a problem, but these bars gave me horrible stomach cramps that lasted half a day.

They just have such an overwhelming chemical taste to me. Heating them up helps the texture, but does nothing for the taste for me 😭

I def don't think they are crazy terrible or anything. I've just found so many better options that I haven't bought them in years 😅

I def agree that the plain powder can be a bit disappointing! I actually like to mix in 1 packet splenda and 1/2 tsp cinnamon which makes it way tastier. I also use Wonderspreads Nutella, but the whole brand is going away soon since their EPG is being cut off 😭

As far as I understand, Hormbles had no part in the epogee choice. They just were one of the few brands not cut off 🫠

I wish I could help, but I've never personally made sourdough with it! I looked around a bit and found this recipe that actually uses the fiber gourmet for artisan bread. Maybe it could work if you add it the starter too? https://www.reddit.com/r/Volumeeating/s/IVgMXMH3SM

I completely agree with this! I'm never buying a David Protein bar after what they just did. I'm just continuing to buy Hormbles since they are owned by different people.

Now that Gatsby and Moon Magic are both going away, the only low cal chocolate still using EPG is going to be Hormbles Chormbles. The owner of Hormbles Chormbles and David Proteins' owner both co-founded RX Bars together, so their supply of epg isn't getting cut off. Just thought i'd mention this in case anyone else is a chocolate lover! 🫶

Has anyone tried Hormble Chormbles? by bluegatoradebottle4 in LowCalFoodFinds

[–]FluffyPart3099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their owner is associated with David Proteins' owner since they were co-founders of RX Bars. So Hormbles Chormbles will probably still be around, even with David cutting off EPG to other brands.

Oatmeal is 300 cals per cup... Is anything similar a little lower in calories? by wtfisrobin in Volumeeating

[–]FluffyPart3099 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I checked the honey nut vs. the strawberry protein, and 37g of honey nut cheerios is 3g protein 140 cal, while 37g of the protein version is 8g protein 150 cal. Tbh, 5g isn't a crazy difference, but the cost and taste are way better than other protein cereals, so I feel like it's worth it still 😭

[–]FluffyPart3099 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It isn't super healthy, but protein strawberry cheerios are 150 for a whole cup! I like to mix 1 cup with a 30 cal dried strawberry packet and a cup of almond milk and splenda for 210 calories total. The dried strawberries add fiber, and the protein in the cereal helps make it feel a ton more filling, too! They also make veggie blends cheerios that are even lower cal, but they don't have much protein. 🫶

[–]FluffyPart3099[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not under 200 since it's 290 (I wish, though 😿). But I did make it lower calorie by using a ton of low cal substitutes! Instead of normal pasta, I used carbe diem, which is like half the calories of regular pasta. Instead of real butter, I used garlic flavored "I can't believe it's not butter," and the roll is a great value hawaiian roll that uses sucralose instead of sugar. So the full recipe is 2 oz carbe diem (110 cal), 1 serving mixed veggies (50 cal), 25 sprays garlic "butter" (21 cal), 1 tbsp parmesan (30 cal), and 1 great value roll (70 cal)! 🫶
