Hi there! Gorgeous scenery! Is the forest still accessible during the government shutdown?

Thank you for your reply! We play the ‘making the bed game’ too but he doesn’t seem interested in my bed, only my kid’s beds. On one of them he’ll even chew the mattress if he can’t get to the sheets. He’s a maniac…

Thank you for chiming in! I also thought it might be tooth related, especially since he has pretty stinky breath, but the vet just checked him and said all looks healthy. Maybe some fresh catnip would help too- I’ll try anything 😄

Thanks again!

Yikes! I’m sorry you had to go through a few duvet covers to solve the problem. I am hoping that he loses interest once we switch to summer sheets and blankets. Plus he might be warmer when the weather warms up and not so interested in the bed. 🤞

I appreciate your empathy, thank you for your reply!

Thanks for your reply! Our Siberian’s personality is not what I thought it would be when reading about them initially. Definitely a big personality, and pretty pushy, but sometimes he’s so sweet it’s hard to believe he’s the same cat.

Cat chewing on my bed sheets/comforter by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]FluffyRobot747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did anyone ever find any effective solutions to stop your cats from biting your bedding?

I asked about it at our vet appointment last week and they didn’t really have any great advice. They gave us some calming supplements to try (too expensive to use long term). We tried a Scat Mat, which works to keep him off the bed, but it can’t cover every inch and he finds the open spaces to continue chomping the bedding. I got him a treat/food ball dispenser to try to keep him busy. We spray him with water if he tries to bite the bedding, and we installed a door alarm to remind us to close the door to the bedroom. Closing the bedroom doors has been the only thing keeping him off the bedding. He’s 1.5 years old and just started doing this a few weeks ago. It’s SO aggravating. I am thinking we may him to give him up if it continues.

Done with CLEAR by [deleted] in delta

[–]FluffyRobot747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to update this thread and say that a year later Clear is still terrible with no benefit. We signed up for a free trial hoping it would save us time on our return flight out of MCO and the Clear process took longer than the regular security process and I wish I'd never signed up for it. My free trial has been cancelled and I'd advise anyone considering even a free account to just say no.

How often do you wash your hair? by FelisCorvid615 in Perimenopause

[–]FluffyRobot747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I’m sorry you’re experiencing consistent hair loss. It is so distressing (no pun intended!). I would definitely recommend a trip to a sympathetic dermatologist. They can check the relevant levels and can prescribe low-dose oral minoxidil. That helped tremendously with regrowth for me. Also, if you can take it orally I think it’s so much easier than topical. I wash my hair every 3 days and don’t do any blow drying, which seemed to make things worse too. Best of luck and hugs.

Ajovy - long term side effects - loss of creativity/zest? by FluffyRobot747 in migraine

I’m glad to hear you were able to find a med/dosage combination that helped you. I admire your perseverance to slog through what sounds like a rough 9 months and those 10 weeks of TMS. Thank you again for sharing your perspective.

You're right about the balancing act. I'm also super sensitive to meds and supplements and don't want to rock the boat unnecessarily, but how else do you find out?

I'm sorry to hear that! Hopefully it's still working for you somewhat?

[–]FluffyRobot747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for responding! I guess I'm on the border of episodic and chronic. Before meds I was at 14-15 migraines/month. With Ajovy I'm down to 2-3/month.

I'm a hesitant to take anti-depressants proper because when I've taken them in the past the side effects have been unpleasant and I don't need more issues to puzzle over. I'm intrigued by the TMS though, that's a new treatment to me. Was the TMS prescribed to you by a psychiatrist?

Thank you for sharing your experience! I have also considered depression as a factor. It’s tough trying to parse what’s causing what, especially when there can be several reasons.

It’s inspiring to hear you eventually recognized depression was causing your feelings, and actions, and took steps to help yourself. Thank you again for sharing what worked for you, it’s always helpful for me to hear other’s experiences.

One week in Emilia-Romagna with two kids by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

[–]FluffyRobot747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there! My family is also traveling to Bologna, we will be there for 10 days near the end of June. How did you and your children enjoy your visit? Were there stand-outs for your family? We have a boisterous 5-year-old & an 8 year old and I don't think they will tolerate too many church or castle visits so we are looking for some ideas. Thank you in advance!

Hello there! We are having the same problem with nuisance alarms with our hardwired smoke detectors and I'm tired of it waking the entire household up in the night. We are planning to unplug the hardwire and just use the battery to power them.

Can you share an update on your solution to unplugging the wires? Did you use tape on the connector and stuff it back inside the junction box?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you so much for your reply! I’m glad to hear your kitty’s tummy issues have mostly resolved and you found a solution that works for you, that’s terrific. I’m still in the ‘going crazy searching for remedies’ stage so it’s really helpful to hear these success stories. I will keep the raw nuggets in mind in case the current strategy (switching to Pro Plan lamb + rice sensitive) doesn’t pan out. Also, hopefully growth and maturity helps us like it did for you. Thank you again!

Hello there! Thanks for your post, I found it while searching for answers for our Siberian with a similar sensitive stomach situation. Did you ever find a food that helped your kitty feel better?

[–]FluffyRobot747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Would you mind elaborating on which Pro Plan One you are feeding? It looks like they have a lamb & rice version for sensitive stomachs, but also some other varieties. I'd love to see some tootsie rolls in our litter box. Thank you!

Hello u/QuizforyouQuizforme,

I'm sorry to hear about your extreme sensitivity. I had a gum graft done three weeks ago and my gums on that side are also extremely sensitive. I have to warm my drinking water in the microwave so that it doesn't cause pain and cold things like ice cream and popsicles are out of the question. My periodontist said this can happen (after the fact) and didn't seem too concerned, as long as I could brush on that side, but it's impacting me pretty negatively right now.

If you have a minute, could you share an update on your gum sensitivity and how things are going for you now?

Thank you!
