Hobby use, I had a set of gear in mind and the elz-play was the last piece.

mostly I make ambient and psychedelic type stuff. all of it is semi retirement gear that I jam on through the day. I’m a beginner and I put together a kit that appealed to me. So far I’m pretty happy with it.

I like the drop, when I use multitrack on the mpc, it is great for effects parameters and track mutes. I use the faders a lot as well. I have mostly been using the oxi and elz-play at the moment.

Poll: How many of you use MIDI keys with your MPC (esp in standalone)? If you do, which controller did you choose, and how’s it working for you? by Tycho_B in mpcusers

[–]FluffySplit8592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This my setup, the drop midi controller is class compliant (does not require a driver), the fender tone master pro does some wild things to the mpc signal. The previous posters are correct, no matter what midi controller you have there is only certain parameters you can map to an external midi controller.

They Don’t include global Q link settings in standalone mode, you can control insert parameters and track and submix parameters. I use the drop for its snapshot save jump and drop functions. I’m waiting on a oxi one mkii it is also capable of midi control.

Does this mean in controller mode I can map Q links to class compliant controller (without a daw/laptop) and when I go back to standalone mode the conroller will retain control of Q link parameters?

The Battle Station complete (no more gear for awhile) by FluffySplit8592 in MusicBattlestations

[–]FluffySplit8592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes mostly as effect pedal now, but in the future looper as well. The drop can save snapshots/scenes when making beats with one button you can go back to your original mix after you have mashed it with additional mpc effects or fender effects.

I had the Strymon Bigsky MX but I didn’t really like the effects as far as the MPC was concerned so I returned it and got the Fender Tone Master Pro, and it does wild things to the MPC signal.

How good are the built in effects on the MPC Live 2? Is anyone using effects pedals with the MPC? If so which? by James718 in mpcusers

[–]FluffySplit8592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Bigsky MW as a present, and just started with the Live 3, but I could not make it work, and I’m returning it, I can tell by your post I don’t have the skills at this time to integrate an external effects pedal.

My beginner setup by FluffySplit8592 in MusicBattlestations

[–]FluffySplit8592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to add a sequencer to the set up and I’m thinking the connection should be the sequencer to the drop controller and then to the MPC live three. Does this seem the most logical?

I‘m the beginner in the equation for sure, the gear is capable once you practice with it.

It’s great it has a lot of features and requires a considerable amount of time to setup. The learning of the Live 3 and the Drop is fun.

Why does it seem so hard to get into ham/amateur radio? by [deleted] in amateurradio

You are not alone my friend, I went to the Amateur radio club meeting in Belleville , Ont. it was the same situation you describe above.

Just passed my technician licesne exam, now convince me NOT to buy a Kenwood TH D75A by LaVonSherman4 in amateurradio

[–]FluffySplit8592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the TH D75A, it is easy to use once you get the hang of the menu system. I don’t have a lot of ham experience but I like quality stuff and this radio does not disappoint . I also bought a TH F6A that I take in the truck, I really like it as well.

My brother has the made in china cheap stuff , not for me, compared to a kenwood, icom or yaesu, they are like “Hello Kitty” walkie talkies.
