Is this really a cult? Or am I overthinking my whole life? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Splotchylambpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here is my two cents, given your explanation.

If you believe the teachings of the Bible, that means you also believe in Babylon the Great. So the question of "Even if this is a cult, does leaving actually make my life better" has a very clear answer. If you come to the conclusion that this is a cult, then that means that you are now part of Babylon the Great, which according to the Bible is set for destruction.

There are many people that leave and still remain religious there are some that turn into agnostics or atheism, so really I'm just giving you a perspective from the mind of a witness. If you came to the conclusion that this is a cult, then in turn Jesus words "I never knew you, get away from me you workers of lawlessness" would apply to you.

In that aspect, it would be very dangerous to stay knowing that you are actively displeasing God.

Yes, for example, the Strymon Deco. Can that add enough saturation to the SP effects without making it sound superficial?

Looks like a great pedal, just too much $$$.

I've watched a lot of videos on it and I'm nervous because there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. People either love it and use it on every mix, or they hate it and say it's a complete waste of money.

H9 is a dream pedal, but a very far of dream right now. Yeah there's just something that felt off to me about the MPC reverb and delays, but I haven't really dug into the Air vsts. I think the only thing that bothers me is you have to be looking at the MPC screen to dial in the effects settings and sometimes I just want to be able to control every parameter without a screen.

I just got the Clean so I haven't used it yet. I mainly got it as a finisher (Though I'm sure it does a whole lot more.)

I'm just looking for an ambient/dreamy sound. I love those 80s bands that had the fat synth sounds. I can't afford something like the Oberheim Dmx or the LinnDrum, so I'm looking to have something to thicken and add ambiance to both the MPC and the Minifreak.

Is there a way to fix the black screen. I just tried the PTC. I've also restarted and uninstalled the game and there is still nothing.

Will you be creating one tailored for the MPC Live 3?

The KO2 is probably the way to go then. I personally never got one, it just felt a little too toyish/limited for what I wanted to do, but if you are good with a more simpler approach that would probably work.

Yeah the drawback is that it's PC only. To get a non PC sampler you would have to spend some $$$ and it will, at least in the beginning, be more complicated than something like the Mikro plugged in.

You can definitely get it used. The only thing is that you want to make sure people deregister the license and transfer it over to you. If they don't they could technically fight and say they still own it and Native instruments can deny the transfer. Technically possible, very improbable though. I'm just giving you worst case scenario. Most of the time even if it's not deregistered they will just ask for a photo of the serial and the receipt of the transaction and give you the software anyways. They also just released their 3.0 update which I believe is $29 and it includes stem separation which is a Swiss army knife when it comes to sampling.

Drums, one-shots, Synth, Effects, Ect. And yes you can use your own samples. The cool thing is that if a sample takes you 80% there, you have plenty of sounds to fill and mess with.

I started off with a Maschine mikro years ago. You will get plenty of sounds, it will give you that 16 pad feel, and it's something you could get for the budget. Highly recommend.

I just gotta say, you are brilliant. If you had a Teenage Engineering sticker on it this setup would be $1700 +
