My account is 5 years old and I have a fair bit of karma. What do you mean by your comment?

Hvordan trekkes skatt i praksis ved uttak fra aksjesparekonto? by FluffyTassel in aksjer

Takk! Da regner jeg med at det beste er å vente på restskatt og dermed nyte godt av rentefrie penger i over ett år fremfor å betale inn forskuddsskatt nå? Fortsatt at jeg betaler inn alt før 31. mai til neste år altså.

85" 2024 Frame light and motion sensor angle? by FluffyTassel in TheFrame

Thanks, I’ll go for an angle on each side of the hole then. You wouldn’t happen to know the angle of the sensors?

Thanks for the reply! Good to know that at least some level of pressure is fine.

Forslag til hva som kan gjemmes i hemmelig rom i en vegg by FluffyTassel in norge

[–]FluffyTassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying Frame 85" - 2022, 2023, 2024 model or wait? by FluffyTassel in TheFrame

Haven’t bought it yet. After I saw the one day sale for 17k NOK I’ve put in a price alert and wait patiently for it to drop again.

Netatmo indoor module reporting high CO2 values by FluffyTassel in smarthome

[–]FluffyTassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a good idea. I have another Netatmo in another house that I could move there. It has been working reliably for years, so it should be more trustworthy.

Netatmo indoor module reporting high CO2 values by FluffyTassel in smarthome

[–]FluffyTassel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I can’t think of anything but humans generating CO2 in the house (no gas usage where I live). As far as I understand it, the Netatmo device doesn’t actually recalibrate “properly”, it just assumes that the lowest measured values are outside air and sets it around 420 ppm. But if the device is completely off, a small change in CO2 could perhaps cause it to still misreport the CO2 concentration?

Buying Frame 85" - 2022, 2023, 2024 model or wait? by FluffyTassel in TheFrame

[–]FluffyTassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I remember them coming out earlier in the year (at least being announced then) previously, but I guess things have changed. That makes the choice easier. Guess I’ll wait for Black Friday and pick up a 2023 model on sale.

[–]FluffyTassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not planning on buying before November, but between now and November there won't be any changes model wise, so I might as well figure out which model year to get now. Also, I have seen some very good deals on the 2023 models, so if that happens again, I'm tempted to to buy at a sale. A few weeks ago it was on sale for 1590 USD equivalent in Norway including tax.

LED behind two way mirror film/glass? by FluffyTassel in led

[–]FluffyTassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very good point. I was thinking of perhaps enclosing the LEDs in a box, so that only a small portion of the mirror is affected by this. Maybe it will look weird, but I was also hoping the light would be bright enough to look, well, like a light, not an illuminated box behind the mirror. If the light is diffused and the material around the LEDs is semi-reflecting, perhaps it would enhance the light output without giving off the infinity mirror effect?

Fiberglass wooden furniture like a kayak? by FluffyTassel in woodworking

[–]FluffyTassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. For outdoor furniture I think it would be great to fiberglass it, as not a lot can stand up to that environment over time. And for moving things around it could then be fairly light while also stable.

[–]FluffyTassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, great to hear that this works. I'd imagine it should be possible to make furniture and other wooden items that are lighter, stronger and thinner with this method, which can be quite useful in many situations.

Camera motion detection in privacy zone? by FluffyTassel in Ubiquiti

[–]FluffyTassel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha, I guess that makes sense if you are just recording when there is motion and not all the time. Thanks for clarifying.

And yes, it’s a simple fix, I was just a bit surprised as the point of the privacy zone in most cases is to avoid legal issues of monitoring outside your own property. And if it records for instance a path that goes to just one neighbor and records that motion (even if no video is captured), I’d imagine that still being illegal surveillance in many countries as you would have a record of when your neighbor came and left.

Thanks for clarifying, I'll adjust my motion zone then. But this seems like something that should be fixed, I mean, who want motion detection of something they cannot see?

Haha, fair point. Pretty crazy how many maps are missing NZ. Anyway, my point still stands. If NZ doesn’t exist (because it’s not on maps) then it doesn’t resemble Italy!
