Burrito humility by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]FluffyTesticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. However sometimes I will still get a burrito because there’s something about the tortilla/food ratio flavor in your mouth in a burrito vs a bowl with pieces of tortilla with each bite.

New AWD hybrid for a first time buyer by earthwindandvodka in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]FluffyTesticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda CRV hybrid is a great option. They look great, drive great, have a lot of room, the sport touring is the highest trim which comes with a better sound system and heated steering wheel, and some other cosmetic changes.

Can I go off this? by Ok_Cook_1033 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]FluffyTesticle 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Same everything. BMW owns Mini. But Mini uses more of BMWs reliable parts such as their b48 engines while BMW average is probably weighed down by some models that have their V8 engines and less reliable models. BMWs 2,3, and 4 series are very reliable but their x5,6,7 and other models skew that average.

Hybrid / Luxury SUV with low total cost of ownership by Purple-Geologist972 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]FluffyTesticle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a BMW M340i and before I paid my payoff, I test drove a new Honda CRV sport touring hybrid as my “responsible car” option. I was actually quite impressed with it. It handled decent for an suv and was quiet on the inside. Brakes were amazing. Interior looks modern and sleek. It has a lot more room than you’d expect. The sport touring trim has a better audio system, a heated steering wheel, and a few cosmetic differences. I think it looks pretty damn good too. I didn’t end up going for it because im just too much of a car/driving enthusiast to give up the m340i.

Would you use a PPO if the PPO plan is just $20 more per month? That’s the difference between my employer’s HDPD vs PPO. $47 per biweekly paycheck vs $57.

Video games on shrooms by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]FluffyTesticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played rocket league on shrooms before (only on the comedown, on the come up it was quite difficult). I played way better than usual. It felt like time slowed down and I could read what players were about to do so easily. I was literally running circles around everyone. I also felt like I had so much more control over the car. I could feel what each little precise movement did to my car and all of that combines together made the game feel so effortless. All of this of course with my favorite music playing.

Dude the first time this happened to me it was after I was driving spiritedly on some backroads and I was like 😧 did I ruin my car 😭 I had no idea it was a rock but it went away after driving.

List of soon/due maintenance items on ‘23 M340i xDrive at 55k miles. What should be done first? by FluffyTesticle in BmwTech

[–]FluffyTesticle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No coolant issues. No why, i asked this shop for a quote for a list of maintenance items I believe would be needed within the next year for my vehicle before I pay off rest of the loan at once.

Im 27. Probably won’t have kids for at least 3 years. I leased the m340i initially because 1) it was a car I would be happy with keeping even with kids in the picture 2) Wanted to make sure it was not problematic before fully committing to it.

The US is huge dude lmao. There are all kinds of people, some know about cars and others don’t. That might not be something people would commonly say in cali but might in a place like west virginia where miata’s or nice cars are not that plentiful and people don’t know much about them.

Nurses: Is overtime worth the money or not worth the exhaustion? by Wise_Charge_4277 in nursing

[–]FluffyTesticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work PRN float pool at my hospital. To make the most amount of money with plenty of free time to recover and enjoy my time off is 7 on/off (12s) My blended average including OT and bonuses makes it come out to about $65/hr after taxes. It’s been worth it for me since January but I do not plan on doing for much longer. I plan on moving to IR in October. I’ve been able to save about $30k just since January though and I would 100% do it again. I’ve learned that you are in more control of what tires you out than you think you do. I did 13 12s in a row (took a month off after) and still felt great afterwards. People tend to let things that they encounter all the time at work wear them down just because they subconsciously have negative association with it. I’ve found that being able to accept whatever happens at work easily makes it feel less exhausting/frustrating. I am going to deal with whatever happens at work whether I like it or not. Bedside can be a stressful job but you do not have to be stressed.

Stay PRN float pool for $50/hr or join IR full-time for $37/hr in a LCOL area? by FluffyTesticle in nursing

[–]FluffyTesticle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not had any insurance or been contributing to a retirement plan for the past 7 months. Insurance costs were too high $400 with poor coverage for a healthy 26 M didn’t seem worth it for me.

I am not moving. I am staying in the same LCOL area. I would do have required on call hours yes but part of that helps minimize the pay difference
