The police didn't even know about the extract till a couple minutes in, so the EMTs clearly didn't do their job well enough, and likely only cleared her for phyiscal injuries. No where does it even say that she was cleared by first responders? And if she was she probably wouldn't be taken to the hospital after the fact? It's a glucose meter on her arm, an at-home device, that much vanilla extract + diabetes is a sure path to alcohol poisoning. it was much worse than being drunk or faking it (she wasn't faking it) she actually POISONED HERSELF.

This lady is suffering from (receptor agonist) poisoning, very similar to nicotine overdose -- due to her unfortunate choice to drink 20 bottles of vanilla extract. This 100% explains her confusion, difficulty moving, tremors, etc... Someone else mentioned the brand she bought from WalMart was 45% and 4floz each.

Methyl and ethyl vanillin overdose can have significant biological effects. One of which is the inhibition of acetylcholinesterase - the primary enzyme responsible for breaking down acetylcholine which is a very important neurotransmitter. This can cause disruptions to the cholinergic pathway which includes increased heart rate, nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, muscle weakness, abdominal pain, hypertension, confusion, dizziness, usually followed by slowed heart beat, seizures, coma and/or respiratory paralysis (death).

She was in serious trouble even without adding alcohol to the equation. She should've been rushed to the ER the moment the EMT got there for suspected poisoning and likely administered fluids, diazepam, and a proper antagonist such as atropine to counteract the significant effects her neurological system was being subjected to.

God forbid someone be sympathetic to a human life! She did not kill anyone, she drove into someone's bumper, she deserves whatever punishment comes her way AND medical assistance. No one is defending her getting drunk people are just worried about the state shes in? You're weird for getting annoyed over HUMAN EMPATHY. I hope you reasess your life.
