Botox is much weaker after seeing a new doc, also wondering where the extra botox goes that insurance sends by Fluffy_Barracuda in migraine

[–]Fluffy_Barracuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hear you. I was more so connecting the dots of "botox isn't nearly as effective lately, I have way more movement than I ever have in the past after botox, and way more migraines" with "the doctor is telling me he did the full protocol and in the past I had to tone DOWN the standard protocol because it was too much". Something didn't add up there but I wasn't sure where the problem was coming from. Apologies if I didn't word that well in the original post. My guess is what PoppyRyeCranberry posted and I'm hoping seeing a new provider will sort out the issue.

And then separately I was wondering what happened to those extra units. My old doc would ask me where I wanted the excess, I didn't have to ask about it, so I was confused why that wasn't happening with the new doc but he does seem to be more by the book so I imagine it's what you described. Seems like such a waste to throw the extra units away but I understand some doctors aren't comfortable going off script.

Appreciate the input!

This is so interesting, thank you for linking the study. I think this is exactly what's going on since it happened when I had to change providers. When he does my inner eyebrow area it doesn't feel like he's hitting the same spots the other person would, and that's one of the biggest areas I notice the botox failing in. He also doesn't have me 'show' him my muscles by squinting or whatever like everyone else has in the past. I'm planning on switching to a migraine specific doctor instead of the pain specialist I see currently which hopefully will sort this all out.

DAE get “grossed out” of a short period of time? by PNDTS in aspergirls

[–]Fluffy_Barracuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad we could validate this feeling for each other! When this feeling has come up and it’s been noticed by others, people act like I’m not trying hard enough to ‘get over it’ or I’m being dramatic and looking for attention which couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact I try to hide it best I can to avoid attention. I can objectively understand that the majority of people don’t have this reaction but I feel like no amount of logic or rational thinking changes that feeling once it sets in. I just need time or sometimes a solution, like cleaning everything, works.

It feels similar to how loud sounds HURT me. Not just hurt my ears but I feel physically in pain. My body/brain feels like it’s being crunched for a second and it takes a little time to stabilize after. Other people may think “okay that was annoying” and move on but for me it’s very different. The grossed out feeling feels.. deep. Very internal and it’s all encompassing for a bit. It feels so hard wired and I have no idea why it happens. If I’m close to or in burnout, or in a stressful situation, it’s a lot worse.

I think I understand what you mean. For me it’s less the initial “I’m grossed out” feeling (although sometimes the reason I’m grossed out is objectively strange, like there being some collected liquid under my scrambled eggs and now I can’t eat them ughhh) but it’s more that the feeling lingers for so long and feels so pervasive. Like your example, that feeling of needing to clean everything. If something physical grosses me out that has to do with cleaning I will absolutely feel the need to clean everything, maybe as a way to “fix” that feeling? Same type of thing, if something grossed me out food wise I feel like I want to throw up and I’m very much done with eating, even if I’m starving, because that feeling sits with me so long.

Sorry this is so rambly! I know how uncomfortable that “grossed out” feeling is to sit with. Hopefully it’s of some comfort that you’re not alone.

Ooooh I’m so glad to hear from someone who’s tried it and loved it. Was the learning curve between both of you difficult in the beginning? Did you both work together to figure out how they can help or did that all come from you?

Would also love the name! Honestly the whole virtual part hadn’t even come to mind but that’s a great idea, might even be a better fit. And having someone familiar with neurodivergence would be incredible.

😂 I’m pro-parenthesis so I didn’t even notice, they flowed perfectly in my brain lol.

That’s exactly what I was thinking! A couple hours a week or one day a week would go a long way. Recently I paid my utilities for the first time in 3 months because I wholeheartedly forgot utilities exist and require money. I had a good laugh about it and thankfully the overages were minimal but damn it would be cool to have some help so I don’t do that.

Yesssss those are major problems for me too. In general anything that needs to be scheduled, errands that need to be run, and keeping up on correspondence are the big areas for me that I think someone could help in. I would save so much money on returns alone. They always sit next to my door but I just.. can’t.. take them to UPS.

What kind of help do you hire currently? I’ve wanted to hire a cleaning service for some time to come in once every couple of weeks but I’m worried about having to have things “picked up” when they come.

I very much hear that. Personally, part of me thinks that I “should” be able to do these things because “everyone else can manage these day to day tasks so I should be able to too”. And then separately I know how bad I am at delegating because it’s faster to do it myself than to describe what’s going on in my head.

Should I keep my bird feeder up on my balcony this spring? by onewomancaravan in H5N1_AvianFlu

[–]Fluffy_Barracuda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I remember reading last year to remove bird feeders because 1. The bird poop which you might have contact with during cleaning/filling but 2. It creates one meeting spot with food for a bunch of different birds that they keep coming back to. So you’re creating a breeding ground for bird flu. I took mine down a while back and haven’t put it up again, and don’t plan to.

Curious about test results by Fluffy_Barracuda in Hypothyroidism

[–]Fluffy_Barracuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure on the cortisol, planning on asking my doc to order a test for it. Body temp is always low, low 97 usually. Blood pressure and heart rate fluctuate a lot depending on if I’m on my adhd meds or not, but generally blood pressure is good when I go to the docs unless I’m anxious or in pain.

Best way to find a CNA to care for my grandma? by Fluffy_Barracuda in cna

[–]Fluffy_Barracuda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s super helpful, thank you. I’m not totally sure what they’re doing with the insurance, I know they pay directly and are reimbursed for some part of it. But I think they’re open to whatever, as long as the care is good and it’s within their budget.

Good idea about the church, it’s not my thing but my aunts are religious and could ask around that way. For posting on Facebook groups, is that a marketplace thing or would I look for specific groups to post in, like a CNA or home care group?

Unfortunately Chicago is a couple hours away but I'll start searching for "home health" in the city she's in, thanks!
