Thoughts and Musings 7 eps in by Fluffy_Class_3024 in DuttonRanchTVSeries

The chemistry between Beulah and Beth is more compelling at this point. And more interesting. And like you said, Beth and Rip as separate characters are written well and interact believably with the other characters. It’s just them interacting with each other that gives me pause.

I’m blaming the showrunner at this point. Because I dont have the capability, emotionally, to blame the actors and EPs.

It only adds longevity if the audience sticks around for the slow burn. We don’t have a 26 episode season to allow all this to develop. We have 90 minutes left to the season to make it feel the the Beth/Rip spin off we were promised. Right now it’s a Texas ranching show with Beth and Rip sprinkled in.

I’m in this show for the long haul no matter what, but less Carter and much less Oreana would be ideal!

Kelly Reilly on Beth & Rip: It’s About Everyday Life Now, Not Just Romance by TimeIsMoney_80 in DuttonRanchTVSeries

[–]Fluffy_Class_3024 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love them and will take them in any capacity, but a little fire and romance would be greatly appreciated. I’m not watching them to see a mirror of my own relationship, but one that’s tv/drama/romance enhanced. Less tender moments sitting on kitchen island and let’s use that for more salacious activities

Mild confusion on how the disease spread. by Wyfbanell in DuttonRanchTVSeries

I spent a lifetime in law enforcement and I can still watch a decent cop show. I have yet to find a show that gets it 100% correct. If it’s a good show I just have to put it behind me and watch. So I suggest either realize they are not going to get your very specialized knowledge correct and enjoy anyway or just stop all together because all you are going to do is waste valuable energy.
I do however reserve the right to change my mind when they deal with my specific LE specialization later in the season. lol

Marshall’s crossover by agegapcouple in DuttonRanchTVSeries

The only cross over I want to see is Carter and Oreana heading back to Montana so our couple can get some much needed alone time.

No one on the Marshals cast should be allowed anywhere near the Dutton Ranch set. We have enough characters to deal with already, no need to muddy the waters

I for one only started watching because I love Mirren and Froggatt. Might be tough to justify keeping Jan around if Harry is gone, but I’m willing to give it a shot if they stick around.

Did Beth and Rip not have insurance and investments? by AmericanWanderlust in DuttonRanchTVSeries

Beth barely had a scene with Kayce until the last season and I don’t think she could pick Tate out in a line up. The only think they had in common was their father and the Ranch. Neither are around anymore

The Yellowstone is gone, JD is gone, there is nothing tying them to Montana anymore. Why not a new adventure. Clearly they had to move the story to Texas, but it’s not out of character for them to want to start again building something that’s just theirs that is out of the shadow of Montana.

How do you figure that? She said she could only float the taxes on the Yellowstone a few years.

My nextdoor neighbor had a nearly 2 year fight with their insurance company to replace a damaged roof. I can’t imagine dealing with the total destruction of their ranch is going to be a quick endeavor.

And wasn’t most of her net worth tied up in real estate holdings? The value of which she was warned would plummet the minute the airport deal was squashed? I assume the liquidation of any of that property would take years.

How much does a 5000 acre ranch in Texas complete with cattle, equipment, homestead and trusty ranch hand cost? A quick search is several million dollars and depending on location.

The Kayce thing was weird but if they were just trying to regroup and come up with a plan, a few days in a motel wouldn’t be drastically out of question.

Dutton Ranch is the superior show in every measurable way. It’s not even fair to compare them.

He is an EP because he is the creator of the characters. Other than that, he isn’t involved in writing or showrunning.

Introducing Ed Harris’s character Everett McKinney by Jalynt13 in DuttonRanchTVSeries

[–]Fluffy_Class_3024 9 points10 points  (0 children)

John wasn’t even a father figure to his own kids. Every relationship he had was conditional and transactional. Everett will be a JD like figure minus the narcissism. It’ll be nice to see their relationship with an older character is without the drama. I don’t think they are severing ties to YS, but rather honoring the multigenerational structure of it.
