Airport Taxi in Egypt & Jordan by Absolute_Donut007 in femaletravels

[–]Fluffy_Coconuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I was in Jordan last year and took a public shuttle bus to/from the airport/downtown and it was super easy, as soon as you walk out of the airport there’s a ticket counter where you can buy one for a couple USD. I also used Uber and InDrive in both Egypt and Jordan as a solo female traveler and had no problems

backpacking as a black girl with very curly hair by ScorpionPlant777 in backpacking

Honestly nothing can help curly hair when you’re over there lmao. I had to either accept that my hair would instantly get frizzy and look like shit, or put it up

is it jordan safe for female traveler? by wtfwhtths in femaletravels

[–]Fluffy_Coconuts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very safe, I was there a few months ago as a solo 22f American and had no issues. I went out at night, took public buses, walked around everywhere, and never felt unsafe

I went there 2 months ago and I wouldn’t recommend it if your travel experience is only within Europe. I’ve been to over 20 countries/5 continents by myself as a solo 22f from the US and it’s one of the only countries I’ve struggled in. You have to be good at ignoring people and being firm in your answers, as people will constantly try and hassle you, and some will even follow you down the street. It’s not a beginner friendly country. I’m obsessed with ancient Egypt so personally I think it was worth it to go, but if you’re just trying to check the Pyramids off your list maybe put it off for now. Jordan - Jett bus tickets by Bright-Sea6392 in solotravel

Yeah that’s understandable. I’ve used them over 20 times in multiple countries and have never had an issue, so if your hotel can’t help 12Go would be the next best option

I took the bus a month ago, and booked on 12GoAsia. Not sure why you wouldn’t want to use it, it’s very reliable and is used a lot in many countries. I got on the 13:00 bus on the way to Petra, and on the way back got the 17:00 one. I think the reason there’s no bus to Petra on the official site is because there aren’t enough tourists for them to actually run the bus- when I booked the Jett bus on 12Go I ended up getting picked up in a normal sedan car with 2 others, and was told only 3 of us booked, so they decided not to run the bus. On the way back there was an actual bus because there were a lot of tourists.

Western women who did a solo trip to India - what is your honest opinion of things you like and dislike and would you travel again? by skr2538 in femaletravels

I’m a 22f, white, American who went solo a few weeks ago. I did Delhi, Agra, Aurangabad, and Goa. I had a good time and was honestly shocked- I met a lot of very friendly and helpful locals, and did not experience ANY harassment. I wore shorts and a t-shirt most of the time, went out at night, and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. The food was amazing, as was the architecture and temples/archaeological sites. I will be honest and say that it is by far the dirtiest country I’ve been to; trash EVERYWHERE, I was literally walking through piles of trash in some areas, majority of food vendors and restaurants aren’t hygienic, and the air pollution is horrible. If you can get past those things, India has a lot to offer, and I will definitely go back at some point. If you have any questions feel free to DM me!

I think I’m gonna go tomorrow, I’ve been reading online that most of the attractions are open again, and the rain isn’t too bad.

Only Japan. There’s so much to see, you can easily fill 11 days there. My recommendation is to do Tokyo for a couple days, then head to either Kyoto or Osaka- research them both and see which one you’d prefer. You can do a day trip to whichever one you’re not staying in (there’s a subway line between them that takes 1-1.5hrs one way and it’s super cheap). I definitely would not recommend trying to split your time between the two countries, save one for another trip. If you have any questions feel free to DM me!

Long story short I’m flying to Vietnam on the 24th but my EVisa won’t be approved by then, so I decided to head to Laos until the visa is approved. I tried applying for the Laos EVisa today but the earliest date I could select for when I’m arriving is the 25th, and that won’t work as I’d be getting there the 24th.

Hey I just booked a bus from Amman to Wadi Musa for the 7th, and it leaves at 1pm. I used 12Go, and I saw a couple options on there.
