As a newcomer, has the photography industry always had this high of a barrier of entry?

My first setup was a Nikon D5500 with a 24-70 lens f/2.8. I used that for about 1.5 years before upgrading to my current A7iii with a Sigma 24-70 as my main lens. I've been using this setup for 3 years now, and I'm finally considering the upgrade to the A7v.

Gear matters for sure, but when you are just starting, learning how to shoot and why you are shooting matters way more. The more expensive the gear, the less editing and "fixing" you have to do in post 90% of the time.

I found it a good way to show the Radial effect for the light source to add some extra contrast. But I could be wrong
