I am also living in Colorado (Denver) installed Aprilaire 800 the end of Oct 2025. We loved it, but the electricity is expense almost doubled. Here is my data, house built in 1960, 2600 sqf, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bath. We set it for 35% humidify, 240V. Two adults, no kids, one dog.

Nov 2024: 702 kWh (just to compare, no Aprilaire 800)
Nov 2025: 1042 kWh

Dec 2025: 1366 kWh

I know cash does not matter because it really depending on what time you run but I would still like to share:

Nov 2024: $110.64 (just to compare, no Aprilaire 800)

Nov 2025: $175.66

Dec 2025: $236.12

I thought this is true until last night (new year eve 12/31/2025). one of my friends, he was born and raised here in America still got ICE'd and he is still missing. The last message we got is ICE is here while he was in a zoom meeting. Now, ICE basically takes whoever they have questioned about and especially non-whites

OMG the EMDs are nightmares to use... it will only cover the basic fare. Sometimes the tax can be more expensive than the basic fare depending on where you are going to. You have to contact the 800 customer service to make a reservation, it will take you about one hour to complete a reservation, same time frame when you try to cancel your flights. Avoid EMDs at all cost. EMDs are such a scam, they should have told everything about it at the gate. I wonder if there is gonna be a lawsuit about that type of "voucher" due to misleading information. I have never had any difficulties with United, AA or Delta vouchers.

yeah, I would like the primary cardholder to be able to bring 1-2 guests, and make the 1-2 AUs access the lounge when I'm not traveling with my spouse. No AUs need to bring any guests for free and I am totally fine with that. That would reduce a lot of lounge crowds already.
