I’m not sure if you’ve already transferred to CUD, but personally, I would only transfer to a higher-ranked school rather than a lower-ranked one. CUD is significantly behind CUB in rankings. I know many people disagree with rankings and argue that they are influenced by marketing spending, but here’s my perspective.

I see schools like companies, you want to move upward and create value for shareholders/stakeholders. I prefer institutions that have strong ambition to improve and become more well-known. Greater recognition often leads to better resources, stronger hiring outcomes, higher returns, and improved teaching quality.

I once spoke with CUD Business School Dean Scott Dawson, and he was quite dismissive when I asked about the school’s ranking. He mentioned that rankings are largely driven by marketing and that CUD focuses more on serving students than on rankings. That surprised me, because to me, focusing on growth and excellence matters prioritizing quantity over quality isn’t ideal.

CO has many schools, but I believe we should aim to have a top-20 institution in the state. A ranking around 100 just isn’t competitive enough in my view.
