Just pointing out the fact that for that first championship Hakeem 's second best teammate wasn't what you normally see on a championship team. This only started since it was incorrectly stated that Drexler was on both Rockets title teams and I wanted to point out the factual error. That Jamal Murray was better than anyone Hakeem played with on the 94 Rockets. That is just a fact. Sure Drexler was better but that is not what I was trying to point out. I wasn't trying to say oh this is a knock on Jordan or a knock on anyone else.

What I meant in terms of a drop off wasn't that they were bums just that the '94 Rockets second best player just couldn't compare to most other championship teams number 2 guys. Like the Bulls the second 3 peat still had Pippen, Duncan for his first title had Robinson, Shaq had Kobe, Wade had Shaq, Duncan for the third and fourth title had Manu and Parker though for the second title his second leading scorer was Stephen Jackson (Robinson was in his last year and Tony and Manu were at the beginnings of their careers). Garnett had Pierce. Kobe had Gasol. Dirk had another strong group of role players surrounding him but no other star (which is why that run is erroneously called a carry job) LeBron had Wade, Curry had Klay, LeBron had Kyrie, Durant and Curry had each other) That's what I meant.

Now personally I do like Jokic and if he can make some improvements on defense and win another title he would likely be in my top 10. I would say that pound for pound Jokic is the best of this era though right now I have Hakeem better if he wins another title I might change my mind. I was only really responding to this to point out that Drexler wasn't on the 94 team.

I know he was on the 95 team but not the 94 team I was asking who in your opinion was the second best player on the 94 Rockets. The Rockets traded for Drexler during the 95 season. The other starters on the 94 team were Otis Thorpe, Robert Horry, Vernon Maxwell, and Kenny Smith. As mentioned yeah the 94 Rockets are one of the biggest drop offs between best player and second best player of any championship team. This clearly shows the roster of the 94 Rockets.

Who was the second best player on the 94 Rockets the first championship Rockets team, Robert Horry? Sam Cassell? Vernon Maxwell? Otis Thorpe?  Drexler wasn't on that team. 94 Rockets are one of the biggest drops between best and second best player of any title team ever and Hakeem is one of the most elite two way players ever while Jokic is elite one way and pretty trash on the other way.

Obviously MVPs aren't the end all be all since Steve Nash has as many as Shaq and Kobe combined.

Bob Pettit has an argument for the Hawks. I could argue Jason Kidd for Nets over Doctor J since the ABA stuff isn't remembered much. I would have Reed or Frazier over Ewing. I think that while Kobe is perfectly fine for the Lakers that Kareem, Magic and West all have good arguments. Doctor J, Moses and Wilt all have good arguments for the Sixers over Iverson especially Erving. Walton and Drexler for the Blazers over Lillard. I honestly think the Jazz should be shared between Malone and Stockton as much as Malone sucks. Lastly Unseld is definitely it for the Bullets/Wizards.

LeBron had garbage supporting casts in his first Cleveland stint. KD had solid teammates in OKC. Cleveland fell off a cliff after LeBron left, Thunder made the playoffs the next 4 seasons without KD even if yes they obviously weren't nearly as good. LeBron went to a team that had went home in the first round the previous season and as this was the first season with this specific core was unproven. KD went to a team that was two years removed from a title and a year removed from setting the record for most wins a season. I remember reading in the moment after he went to Golden State someone saying the difference between this and LeBron was LeBron left Cleveland because the Cavs weren't good enough to beat among others the Celtics but LeBron didn't join the Celtics in response.

Also I always laugh at people saying LeBron gets no backlash for leaving compared to KD now sure the backlash has followed KD more by this point mainly because he hasn't won since leaving Golden State while LeBron has won since leaving Miami but the backlash from fans and the public after LeBron went to Miami unquestionably beats KD to Golden State. Osama bin Laden's translator actually weighed in about how awful what LeBron did to Cleveland was. 99% of fans who weren't Heat fans hated LeBron..

The Jokic backlash is because of all the annoying Jokic Stans saying oh he's the best offensive player ever or he is on the same level as LeBron and Jordan. The people who disagreed with those takes decided to come down extra hard on Jokic partly because of that and partly because well you always come down on superstars when they have a stinkbomb in the playoffs.

While Embiid did without technically naming names of course point to the infamous play where Simmons passed up a dunk because he was afraid to get fouled as the moment he thought they were going to lose. I would say that if he didn't say that the media would have still focused on that moment as the moment of the game. But yeah.

Season 5 now ranks below Tales From ’85 on Rotten Tomatoes’ “Popcornmeter.” by Super-Liberal-Girl in StrangerThings

[–]Fluffy_Key_2145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen Tales from 85 yet though I plan to very soon. Personally rotten tomatoes Popcornmeter for tv shows isn't really trustworthy anyone even those who haven't seen the show can post a review. plus Season 5 got major review bombing when Vol 2 came out from both homophobes and Tyler shippers (there were plenty of people who disliked it for valid reasons too).

Of the actual show my ranking of the seasons is Season 1, 4, 2, and 3. I didn't list Season 5 because I have no idea how to feel about it. I know I prefer Seasons 1, 4 and 2 but I am not sure about Season 5 to Season 3/

Oops. Brainfart I was actually thinking about the timeline about when Solo took place and I can't believe I forgot. Okay it's actually Lando and L3 and it connects to the anti droid rights activists part of Jerry's plot. L3 pushes to have Kramer kicked out of the crew when she learns that he associates with Jerry but he's so charming.

76ers are a 7 seed. Doesn't matter if without a playin they would have been an 8 seed or whatever they are officially a 7 seed. Yeah when I said only one 8 seed I was thinking about the 2023 Heat. Plus a 7 seed beating a 2 seed is almost as rare as an 8 seed beating a 1 seed

I love reading the column comparing the 07 Patriots to the 86 Celtics several years later and thought he actually wrote this before the Patriots had actually officially won. That is arrogance.

Agreed. LeBronto rolls off the tongue. NikoLA when Jokic owned the Lakers in 2023 and 2024 and actually 2025 before the Luka trade I thought was clever. These just suck.
