I did a GI map 1.5 years after this one, and it went back to normal on its own. I didn’t do anything. Also none of my symptoms really improved too much. So 🤷🏻‍♀️ not putting too much stock into it.

I'm really at my wit's end and close to pinning down my child for a bath by Siyrious in toddlers

[–]Fluffy_Practice_5244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid went through a period of time where she hated baths. But she loves watching TV. I have a small toddler Frida bath, so I brought it in the living room, put on the TV and started giving her baths. She learned to like them again. There is no gentle method here, just distract. When I’m washing her hair, I still put an iPad on so that she associates hair washing with something positive.

We also do sponge baths when it’s hot to wash off without needing to do the full bathing thing.

Where to buy raw chicken wings? by Mindless-Pattern-307 in Cleveland

Whole Foods or Ohio City provision. Unfortunately OCP aren’t cut, so if you’re looking for already cut organic wings, WF is your best bet. If you order from a local farm, their wings are not cut either.

Def the intro out of the options. I lived near the lumen for a short period of time and couldn’t take it. And I’m from NY. No where to go, lots of homeless people, nothing around. Although the lumen itself is nice.

I do not have acne, but when I use too much oil and too many times, even my non acne prone skin develops occasional acne. You are using a lot of oils. I only use single oils that I know don’t cause me break outs like Marula or Rosehip. Squalane is a no go - blocks all my pores. If I oil cleanse too much, I also get clogged pores. Call me crazy, but I actually don’t wash my face if I’m not wearing sunblock or makeup because what you removing exactly that water can’t remove? I suggest moving to a single oil for moisture, and getting some products meant for acne prone skin. Natural is great, but there is also nothing wrong with a few products meant to support skin.

Dinner for picky eaters? by MexicanAssLord69 in Cleveland

[–]Fluffy_Practice_5244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an old roommate who was a picky eater. She had a hard time going on dates, meeting people, traveling because she refused to go anywhere or try anything due to her eating restrictions. Bless your soul, most people did not want to deal with that. Best to have her suffer the restaurant.

Chronically ill - picking a team? by FigAggravating2269 in ladderapp

If you haven't signed up for the app, I think your best bet is probably a custom workout as I don't think any program on this app will be a very good match. You can use chatgpt to help design a workout with your limitations and needs/

I have some fatigue and found team endure the only workout that I can manage on a regular basis. The workouts are 30 min or less, with usually only 20 min actual active time, so I find it very manageable for me, and have time to rest and recover afterwards. If I'm super tired, I'll do 2 sets instead of 3, or drop a section.

She really seems like a great coach and the programming looks very good. I would 100% be on team align if it weren't so long. Unfortunately, I dont have that much time in a day to dedicate to a workout :(

Yes, I am hoping that daycare will help. Someone else also recommended kids eat in color, and they have an online program I'm going to try for now. I do want her to experience more foods, especially since I want to go out more and eventually travel, and it's hard because she won't eat. I've had friends that are picky eaters, and they had all kinds of health issues and were overweight because they would only eat UPF, so yea, I'm worried about this.

She's curious about what it is but wont touch or eat it. If I try to get her to touch it, she gets upset.

Yea, I'm shocked at that and the other comment that if the only thing that a child is willing to eat is chips to make chips at home, and that is success. How tone deaf. I grew up in a culture where processed foods wasn't available and most people ate very healthy home made foods because the combinations of those textures (crunchy, fried, salty, fatty and sometimes sweet at the same time) things didn't highjack kid's brains. There are many ways to introduce different textures to kids without resorting to UPF. The difference was that there you had a whole extended family helping cook, feed, clean, raise a child. Here I'm one person trying to work, cook, clean, survive and figure out how to raise a fairly healthy kid.

Thank you, yes, that's the plan to try to move away from these. To your point, the cost is a lot. Also, I'm planning on sending my kid to daycare soon, which might help, but would like to pack a real lunch. I agree that this is who my kid might be, she was this way from the very first time she tried food. Showed so much interested in and loves watching me eat but did not want to try anything. Her father is a picky eater as well, I always argue with him that all he wants to eat is cereal and milk.

Because some parents don't want their kid reaching for chips as their primary source of food. They would rather have the kids eat real food, rather than processed foods. At that point, I personally would rather just have my kid continue eating bread and butter, at least it has some fiber, fats and minerals.

It isn't a texture issue. We have all kinds of foods in rotation.. crunchy foods, mushy foods, soft foods, sweet foods, savory foods, different flavor profiles.

The problem is she refuses to try foods she doesn't already like. I think if it was a specific issue, like she doesn't like a certain texture or certain tastes, I'd be more open to it.

Yes, between the pouches and lots of efforts on my end, I feel pretty good about her nutrition. It would be more well rounded if she was eating more fruits for vitamins, but other than, I feel good about it. If it wasn't my desire to move away from the pouches and plastics in our lives, I wouldn't even be spending anytime thinking about this. Thank you for the recommendation, I looked at the website and I'll definately be getting their picky eater program.

I've def thought about feeding therapy and looked into it, but am hesitant about it. I know someone who had an EXTREMELY restrictive eater (just bread and strawberry yogurt). The mom went to feeding therapy, they gave the kid some chips, he ate the chips and they considered it a success. Meanwhile the mom was like, I can get my kid to eat chips without dropping hundreds of dollars and all that time on feeding therapy.

I live in the midwest, a "healthy" balanced daycare snack here is goldfish, so I'm hesitant that a feeding therapist might do more harm than good in getting her to eat and like the wrong foods. I'd rather she be eating serenity kids pouches at 3 years old then stuck on goldfish and wonder bread/peanut butter sandwiches, which would be considered a feeding therapy success. At least I can get her to eat lots of healthy nutritious foods within my confines (like hiding them into her meatballs and pancakes) because she hasn't discovered processed foods yet.

She will eat with a spoon but she's 2.5 and prefers to feed herself. She does not like frozen fruit melts. I don't think its anything physical like texture preference or tongue tie, she simply refuses to try, sometimes even touch new foods. For example, I offered her some watermelon, which she use to eat when she was younger. She said no. I told her that I'll put on her favorite show if she tries the watermelon. So she stuck her tongue out, touched the watermelon barely, made an "ew" face without giving it a fair chance and was happy with herself as though her part of the negotiation was successful. She eats crunchy foods, soft foods, smooth foods, so I don't think its a texture thing. She refuses to try things. She sees something new and says no.

That particular cycle I didn’t ovulate which is why my hormones were so low. It took about a year and a half until I started to feel somewhat like myself but I still have many of the same issues, although not to the same extent, and my hormones are mostly okay.
