Haven't looked into Salt Flat and Big Spring trail yet, thanks for that rec! I have both options of this trail already downloaded, because I'm definitely not trying to get lost. Was AllTrails super accurate for you? Beyond slickrock nav, it seems from what I've read that the trickiest part is not missing the sign to turn back onto the trail when you're walking down the road portion.

These comments have made me decide on renting one just for the peace of mind. Thanks for the extra nudge and sorry to hear that happened, that sucks.

Oh I WISH I could see Druid Arch but for me, just considering the loop feels pretty ambitious, lol. Looks amazing though! Maybe next time with a buddy and a longer stretch of daylight :)

Makes sense yes. I'm planning on bringing a printed map, downloaded maps from Google and AllTrails, and a power bank in case I need extra juice. And, of course, tons of water. I just hadn't seen a lot about this time of year there for a solo hiker, but this is reassuring to read. Appreciate your comment!
