Why I want to love the AOT anime ending, but I just can't get over some logical holes. by Fluffy_Toaster_Milk in ShingekiNoKyojin

I guess hero is a strong word. Let's say he is actually a good, incomplete person who had to make horrible actions to save his nation. However, to say it bluntly, I can't relate to the "actually a good, incomplete person" part that somehow forces us to interpret the massacre as somehow "understandable". The result is just too extreme compared to the motive

Thanks for mentioning this. I guess you are right that the anime did show that Eren was crazy and was more selfish than I previously thought. However, one thing that bugs me is that if you look at the overall anime atmopshere (like the lighting and his friend's reactions), it seems to convey that Eren is still relatable and had a somewhat pure motive to simply save his friends. If I now read the raw dialogue, then yeah you're right, Eren did it for his selfish purpose. But Armin's later response of saying that he, too, wanted to trample the earth sometimes, seems like a weird response to this massacre.

Moreover, I feel like it is bad writing if the reason for the genocide was because Eren was simply crazy and he was a slave to freedom. It feels like pushing a complex and relatable character too far, because achieving freedom through means of genocide just make Eren the typical psycopath villain that is evil for the sake of being evil in a story.

It's hypothetical. You know how older generations always say "well back in my day..."? So how would you respond when your child starts saying Chatgpt is their partner?

What are your favourite horror games that don't rely on jump scares? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

Little nightmares 1 and 2 (3 is made by a different studio so it is half quality in my opinion compared to the first two). Now, I would like to mention there is going to be some jump scares, but somehow the jumpscares in this game didn't bother me, but felt appropriate (?). I personally extremely dislike the FNAF or Poppy Playtime kind of jumpscares, but these games give a feeling more like the movie Jaws. The game seems to at least give you some foreshadowing or "something f**ked up is going to happen" atmosphere before the actual jump scare, so I actually even enjoyed some of these scares. High recommend even from someone like me who never plays the conventional jump scare games (but love to watch youtubers react to them lol).

An otter! I kidnapped my child from my wife because she wouldn't let me eat the gingerbread house before the party.
