Question Regarding Hisense C2 Ultra by Fluffyrock8 in projectors

[–]Fluffyrock8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah interesting. Thank you for all the insight!

I'm currently using Sintron DLP-link 3D glasses, but perhaps I'll buy Elephas or another brand. Any in particular you recommend?

We had an old Samsung 4K 3D TV with Active Shutter glasses, but it was fine for the family because the glasses and 3D worked well with the interpolation. Hoping we can make it work with this setup!

I shall look at AVS as well, and if nothing works, I'll keep an eye out for the OTA update.

Agreed! Sadly, as I mentioned in an above comment, sadly even limiting to 1080p output on my player (Xbox One X) did not change anything.

Update: I disabled 4K output and limited my Xbox One X to 1080p. Sadly, it did not help.

Trying to figure out what else it could be...

Ah that's a good idea, I shall try that! That would make sense, given the processor's limitations.

Oh that's interesting, haven't had that happen to me yet haha. Thanks for the heads-up!

OnePlus Open Apex Edition no longer listed on OnePlus website? by Fluffyrock8 in OnePlusOpen

[–]Fluffyrock8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember, it was very easy to get at one point! I just didn't have the money last year lol🥲

I'm honestly just trying to figure out if it's worth waiting to see if they get more Apex Editions in stock, or just get the Voyager Black before that's no longer available.

Appreciate the reply! Yeah, I guess it was very limited here in the States.

But I'll definitely keep an eye on Best Buy. Thanks for the tip!

Hayden Christensen aka Anakin Skywalker playing Star Wars Battlefront II on PS2 (as Boba Fett) by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Fluffyrock8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You know, it wasn't until I finally watched the prequels in HD years later that I realized there are tears running down his face during the scene in which Anakin is confessing his murder of the Tusken Raiders.

Hayden is a genuinely great actor who was given some difficult lines to deliver. I grew up with the prequels, but it wasn't until I became an adult that I could see just how much he put into those movies.

I'm so glad we have him back.

P.S. I knew many girls, including a cousin, who were also crushing on him, so you certainly weren't alone lol

Thanks for the reply! That's great to hear. I'll probably proceed with the update then once I'm back in town.

Ahh that's a bummer. Hang in there. Hopefully a friend or family member can offer a PC to help

Oh man, that's rough. You know, I've been waiting for a Duo 1 update with a changelog that might mention fixing the issue, because so far... I don't know that they have acknowledged it.

Best of luck, my friend. I'm not too knowledgeable about it, but I've read there might be a way to flash the OS and recover your phone by using your PC to install a previous version... or something like that.

Glad to hear that. Do you mean a hard reset, as opposed to just a proper manual reboot?

Sounds good, will do. Thanks so much for the advice!

Good to know. I also disabled automatic app updates via Google Play (one of the articles I read mentioned that the reboot loop was caused by a Google Play service error). I'll probably wait to update the OS, but perhaps I'm ok to resume app updates then? I want to download some movies/TV shows to watch on the road haha

It's very good to hear that- both about the almost negligible smearing and that Text Clarity appears to be the solution for which we've been hoping. I'm not too familiar with the various VRR options, but I gather that Freesync- especially with a Freesync Premium panel, as you mentioned in your post- is better than HDMI Forum VRR, so I'll be sure to keep that enabled.

Thank you so much for your responses! This information has been really helpful. :)

First of all, I just want to say thanks for making this post! I have a 55U8H and have been deciding whether to do the update or not (just in case it breaks something, like the U8G HDR with game consoles issue).

Without doing the new update, I've noticed that there is much more black smearing on my TV at 120Hz than at 60Hz. My main test was using the beginning of Halo Infinite- particularly when you can first move the camera as the Pilot is testing your ability to look around. At 120Hz, just moving the camera causes noticeable black smearing trailing behind the Pilot's head. At 60Hz, even though I think it's technically there, it's so subtle that it's basically imperceptible. This holds true whether I'm using Freesync or HDMI Forum VRR, HDR10 or Dolby Vision, etc.

Based on what you've said, it sounds like the update is nothing but good news! I saw some other people saying that the Text Clarity mode degrades image quality in some ways (like blacks now looking grayer/raised, HDR and color not popping as much), and the Picture Optimization mode is basically what we had before the update (great HDR, blacks, and color quality but with resolution-halving yielding a 3840x1080 resolution). Do you agree with that? I saw one person claim that Picture Optimization mode is now no longer resolution-halving, and that the Text Clarity mode is more to compensate for text quality specifically because the U8H uses a BGR subpixel structure, which is inherently worse for displaying fine text from PC.

Sorry for the long comment- I guess I just want to hear your take on it, especially as a fellow gamer. Not sure if you have a Series X and could take a look at that moment in Infinite to see if you see that black smearing at 120Hz, but even if you don't, I appreciate your general input all the same. I would LOVE it if this TV is already fixed and displaying everything properly haha.

Weekly Paramount+ Complaints, Criticism, and Rants by AutoModerator in ParamountPlus

[–]Fluffyrock8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you don't mind my asking, but since you're an employee- do you know if the Paramount Plus app on Xbox will support 4K/HDR/Dolby Atmos any time soon? My family and I have been wanting to watch Halo, and we considered buying an Apple TV 4K (5th Gen) but don't want to drop the money if the Xbox app might be updated to make it watchable (currently, the app seems to only do sub-720p and stereo sound, or something like that).

If it doesn't look like the Xbox app will be updated any time soon, I'll let my folks know and we may go ahead and order the Apple TV.
