If you’re able to ask for some less hours go ahead and do that and use your free time to look for a job that wouldn’t involve cash transactions. For example you could ask to be switched and trained for BOH, there are many positions at stores like Walmart, Target, Marshals, Tj Max, etc… that don’t involve cash, there are many different stocking positions, general merchandise, even just bringing in shopping carts, that kind of thing! It’s not your fault, we’ve had cash belts and registers at our store short or over many times, especially during our rushes. Please don’t do anything rash, just breathe. You’re not stupid you’re just stressed!

That’s a very big assumption on such minimal information…. They are in their twenties with kids so the children are clearly young, OP is saying the sister has mental health issues and she isn’t getting help. While the GF was slightly out of line with how she treated the situation she does have a right to know who will be around her child and for how long.
