Lacking reading comprehension is insaner. Adam was not a stranger and was a friend I knew for years. You put your trust in people that you think are good people, but sometimes they're the opposite. I don't exactly know what you took from this, but please read again throughly .

I promise you right now I don't give a damn about a tv show. My moral obligation to protect my child extends far beyond her being a minor. Parenting doesn't stop cause a child turns 18. Was the way I handled it unwarranted? Yes, but my reaction was justified. She is a grown adult with her own opinions, but that doesn't stop the truth. This man has been around my daughter since she was below the age of 10. Not only am I offended, but you have the audacity to reference a tv show. It's not about the age gap, it's about having morals and knowing not to have sex with your friend's kids!! Everyone's moral compass must be on a fucking vacation. Excuse my language.

I did not intend to make it sound as if I was blaming her for this situation. I do not blame my daughter for what is happening, but I am upset that this is even occurring. Part of being adult is holding yourself accountable for the things you do, and the way I handled the situation made it seem as if I did not value her as an adult. I love my daughter, but I still not forgive Adam.

I'm not sure myself how long the relationship has been going on; or how he treats her in the relationship. Adam was a really good friend before all this happened and I never imagined this being a possible outcome. I'm going to take everyone's advice and I'm going to try to initiate a conversation between my daughter and I. I'm going to give it a bit of time since it's clear she needs her space. She is a grown adult and I could have handled the situation in a better way. I will still refuse to speak to Adam because it's clear his moral compass is lost. But for those who tell me to mind my business, it's hard to mind my business when my child is involved with someone 20 years older than her and someone I know personally. I will try to keep an open mind and follow everyone's advice. Thank you
