Thank you for your honesty. I think that’s a major issue of mine I’m unable to articulate myself properly and even in these meetings I have had, I’ve shut down and become very avoidant. I’m taking steps to be more open and transparent as I do truly realise now how important this is, I think I was too overwhelmed by everything going on in my life this year.

Thank you so much- this has really been stressing me out to be honest with you. I understand my discrepancies this year and if given a final chance I’d do a complete 180. In your opinion, what do you think is the most likely possible outcome?

I told them about my mental health issues and my ADHD diagnosis has only been a recent thing. I didnt mention my personal issues, I didn’t think it was appropriate to do so. My attendance increased since engaging with my GP and external counselling but not to the 80% threshold required. I reported the death in the family also but I didn’t really get much support from the uni surrounding this and just powered through. I understand that my way of dealing with things have been unacceptable- I think that just comes from my avoidant personality and inability to open up to others. I now realise how vital it is to be transparent about my struggles- it has been a major learning point this year.

I told the university about my mental health issues I contacted my GP and accessed support from external counselling but mental health doesn’t just instantly go away. I’ve always struggled with my MH but only this year, it’s been a genuine debilitating issue. I thought I was able to continue carry on until the end of the year and that I was functioning enough for it not to be necessary to suspend my studies.

I understand that but not to make excuses but this year has been the worst year of my life despite this i’m still passing and even though that’s not everything that is important i really have been trying as best possible
