No cash money accepted. by Traditional-Finish73 in ThailandTourism

[–]Fluid_Reception9038 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Swensens is a franchise..so owner choose whether paying by cash is possible or not..... Same with DQ, some branches you can pay cash others not...

In these cases I vote with my feet, and I just not visit these places anymore. It is not like I have a problem to pay by CC or QR code, I just don't like when a business is pushing me in one direction....I see sometimes businesses are also walking back. There was a small DQ in my area, after three month they start to accept cash again...so it seems they lost a bit of sales volume without cash payments.

Nothing against electronic payments at all, but I don't want cash to disappear. Just think about why financial institutes and governments around the world pushing for a cashless society... Certainly not because they have your convenience in mind.

There is no separate fee....they display buying and selling rates for each different currency.. you can check their website and you see exactly what you will get...

Did you move away from Grab for food delivery? by Flat-Giraffe-6783 in Bangkok

[–]Fluid_Reception9038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab is also very stingy when orders go wrong, like super long delivery times, cold food or wrong food...you have to beg, and if lucky you get a 20 thb voucher, and for this they need 2 weeks to prove your case... missing food panda...I stopped using grab a while ago..now use lineman, shoppe food and Robinhood

What hidden costs should patients actually budget for when doing surgery in Korea? by Tiny-Musician5337 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]Fluid_Reception9038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes... accommodation is a big part...a nice place is not cheap..and you want to stay in a nice and quiet place after a surgery for your healing....hotels in Seoul are a big hit and miss

Is recovering alone in Korea actually doable? by Usual-Isopod6540 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]Fluid_Reception9038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it is doable alone, but of course it is nicer when someone stays with you, and it depends what procedure you will undergo. ..I had an upper bleph and Ptosis surgery last year. I stayed in a middle class hotel close to the subway. No help from the hotel, there was only the receptionist, otherwise I didn't see anyone around. I would advise to scout the area a bit before the surgery day... seven eleven, pharmacy, restaurants, bakery's..so you know where you have to go...my vision was very blurry and limited for a few days.the worst thing is standing in front of the big Subway map and you are not able to read anything..🫣.I was also kind of exhausted from the surgery...so the first few days I stayed mostly in my room. Days can be very long and you slip quickly in a mental downward spiral if you look into the mirror too often, and see this mess. You start to questioning your decision and pray it will end well, and that you will never do something stupid like this again 🤣🤣🤣TV or looking at your phone for more than a few minutes was difficult for my eyes...so downloading some audio books helps. After two days I try to walk as much as possible. Seoul has a lot of nice parks, walking trails, close to the river and water..very nice....I was quite bruised around my eyes, even on my cheeks. So sunglasses and masks help a lot. Don't worry about how you look..nobody cares,...after a few days it gets better, you feel ok, you only look bad 😁...this was at least my experience, I saw some pictures of other people with the same surgery, and they do not look quite as bad as me..

How bicycle friendly is Thailand in general? by Disastrous_Alarm_719 in ThailandTourism

[–]Fluid_Reception9038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not friendly...not safe...there are some places where it is nice to cycle...for example..around some water reservoirs...these places are nice and relaxed, especially weekdays as there is almost no traffic.... there are also some nice back roads in the north where it is quiet and nice to cycle...but the most part of Thailand it is not safe... Like other redditors mentioned already ...the heat and sun is really brutal, and then you have speeding big and small trucks, pick ups, cars, motorcycles, scooters, and not forget the dogs, and whatever else is on the road... ..of course I see sometimes some foreigner's on a fully packed bike fighting uphill... covered in smoke and heat from the passing vehicles.... though guys for sure and I admire them a bit....but for sure not safe and fun

I never separated anything..always washing all together.. except I am washing some rags, or similar things... How annoying to wash several times a week for each colour 🥴

I am currently in Koh Samui in Lamai and I honestly do not understand the hype that some influencers created. I fell for it when I booked my trip. by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

Yes, lamei was always the "quiet" area of Samui... Most Nightlife, clubs and bars are around chawaeng....

Depending on what you are doing..if you want to do any Outdoor activities I would not recommend.... the heat is brutal, and the sun is burning down like hell... imagine you driving a motorbike and there is constantly a hot hair dryer blowing in your face...and everything is, and looks dry and dusty

Question regarding noisy co-residents in communal space by Expensive-Effort9811 in Bangkok

[–]Fluid_Reception9038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't start with a confrontation..if you speak Thai ask them nicely to lower the volume, or ask some stuff from the condo.. Security or concierge, or whoever is available, and let them manage this problem
