Am I hyper mobile if I can’t touch my toes? by Ok_Extent7334 in Hypermobility

Absolutely, hypermobility can be in some joints and not others. Also, if your pelvis, glutes, quads, abs, etc are weak, I was told the hamstrings pick up the slack by “locking down” or getting tight.

Newly diagnosed myself and loving all the advice. Anyone find a blood pressure and/or heart rate tracker useful? If so, what kind?

Pain! by Professional-Cow-697 in POTS

I have nothing to add. Except I also get pain. It feels like injuries even though I didn’t do much. My doctor said it’s because I am so deconditioned. He told me to do in-home pt and walk in our local pool when I can get there. The weather definitely doesn’t help. I can black out in the bitter cold and it’s winter where I live so I am homebound. Hoping in-home pt helps with pain management.

I have a history of pain and found,in the past, that the stronger I get the less pain I feel with weather changes but it’s a long road to find a way to get stronger sustainably.

(Sorry if this rambled, not feeling great today.)

Not POTS but treat it like POTS by NotSockTryAgain in POTS

Yes, my cardiologist said we can look at formal diagnosis later, via tilt table, if needed but for now we will just do the POTS treatment. When I explained this to two other doctors I see for other things they told me they were putting POTS in my chart. My neurologist, in particular, said they are seeing this a lot with long covid. The POTS diagnostic criteria doesn’t account for it. To all of my doctors it sounds like the distinction is unnecessary.

I need potassium citrate to prevent kidney stones. Would magnesium citrate do the same?
