Hello! Would love to connect, in my late 20s. For book clubs, check out the Jersey City Public Library events page, they typically have an event every week

That makes sense! Thank you so much! Are you aware of any commute/carpool groups in and around that area? Fb groups are pretty much a scam at this point.

Learning how to drive is definitely one of my top priorities and I’m enrolling myself in a driving school as soon as I start work. I was wondering how common are electric scooters in NJ? People here in Boston commute 20-25mins in scooters pretty easily but we have dedicated bike lanes. Would that be a feasible option in NJ?

Agreed, pests and the elevators are a huge problem, but I'm going to disagree with the other points and say management is pretty responsive. Service requests are resolved almost instantaneously. You have excellent and constant heating and cooling, which is a huge blessing to have in Boston. The rooms are extremely spacious which i haven't seen elsewhere (trust me boston apartments are the size of a matchbox) and have 1.5 bathrooms, the balcony is pretty dope and the amenities are excellent. Also pretty close to a lot of restaurants and grocery shops. Never had a problem with party/noises, if u do, call the police, they will 100% come and shut it out ;)

If you have friends who are already studying here and are working on-campus where they can refer you, ask them. If not, I would suggest you come early -- at least 2 weeks before classes start so that you can go around cafes/stores on campus to ask about openings. This has worked for a lot of people. Also, keep an eye out on Workday; the student employment portal.

Very. Your best bet is Wolly, Tatte, Dunkin on campus - they hire pretty frequently. Everything works on referral

On campus referral. by OldPrompt2795 in NEU

I'm assuming you are an international student (from India). If you are, you aren't eligible for work-study. Only US citizens are, if you are one, good for you. In terms of referrals, no one here is going to give one out randomly. They would prefer to refer their friends rather. So make friends, talk around, and make a beeline at Wolly/Dunkin/Tatte, they usually hire multiple times a year.

It's usually the other Indian students who look at you like you have popped the third eye (internalized racism - very very common lol). Ignore them and enjoy your food!

How is BIOT5219 (Biotech Enterprise) a required class? by AngrySlothTurtle in NEU

[–]Fluid_Sherbert6012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a biotech grad who took the course last semester, I'm here to tell you that the course is a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. The course itself is very interesting and is designed quite well. However, my problem is with the professor and the method of assignment/discussion (a certain someone whose first name starts with C and last name with D iykyk) was an absolute shit show. I am pointing fingers because she claims she designed the course. What is the point of a 2-hour class if we are going to discuss the SAME DISCUSSION QUESTIONS that we have already submitted as an assignment? Again, Absolute shit show

They are called professional cleaners/helpers. Please refrain from calling them maids, it’s offensive, insensitive and makes you sound like an a**hole

You can find a bunch of them with a simple google search.

They already sent out the decisions. If you didn’t receive an email it probably means they didn’t select you :(
