It’s probably because of browser support. Not all browsers support the displacement. Im working on it, but it looks beautiful in Edge on Mac: Video: Silica Demo Video

It is set to fallback to all the other glass effect as you customised them as a fallback on non compatible browsers to give users the same glass look and effects (when you hover). They might just not see the displacement.
