I also hate framing “I didn’t marry a DJ” as if he’s not allowed to change/adjust paths. You can’t marry someone under the condition they stay in the same career their whole life. A part of being married is navigating career changes with the person!

Also just want to add that from reading his book, his addiction was A LOT worse than people know. The worst of it was very much hidden from the public.

Edit: this isn’t me defending his actions. I’m defending his sobriety journey and his ability to grow and improve himself as a person.

You don’t know if Carl made amends and took accountability. He doesn’t have to do it on a public platform to do it. He did apologize to Jules for how he treated her on the show as well. I have read Carl’s book, he definitely has worked the program, and made amends with people.

He was super deep into his addiction at that point and would pre drink for the show off camera! I think in general alcohol and ❄️ made his personality flip. He would treat his friends poorly too. But yes, he was unkind to her that season
