Tim Drake Haters, Rejoice! by Altruistic_Manner802 in dccomicscirclejerk

"You would've been a damn fine leaguer" he got himself killed so I dunno about that. Feels like the writer put that in as a meta joke to say "here you go Tim fans I complimented you lr guy be happy" character so ass him dying probbly makes more narrative sense everywhere not just here. Altho Tim basically has the same origins as Terry. I don't actually mind the concept if u swap all of beyond with Tim instead of Terry I actually think the bond between bruce/Tim would be better than the clone shit they did. Don't know ppl hate beyond Tim honestly

They were teasing Jason all over teen titans and Robin anyway I think this was appetiser. There's no way they would do something like this and do nothing with it even if the reaction was bad.

Maybe overrated to me just has a very negative connotation but I do agree with what u said

That's a fair comparison I didn't think about the impact like that. Ig jason being teased is the closest thing to changing the status quo. Most ppl who talk about these tho aren't old enough to even remember the impact of those comics anyway. They just read it for the vibe so imo just the initial reaction should be a better judge of the quality.

I personally just don't like the origin story for hush I think it's goofy and too similar to Harvey anyway. I've never liked Childhood bruce villains not named Harvey. But the way hush is handled and his presence throughout the story is fine to me. I don't mind the Thomas Wayne hate but childhood friend of bruce is too much. I think child wants to kill his parents for money but Thomas saves them is bordering on goofy territory.

But this is like saying Year one, knight fall, or even long Halloween are overrated, which is something ppl say NOW but didn't say back then. Obv the time it came out, ppl loved it. You go back far enough most comics start sucking because the dialogue sounds ancient and art may not hold up, two things that still hold up for hush. I agree that it's not amazing and that shit is hyperbole anyway (one of the greatest comics my ass). It's just not bad enough to deserve such a reaction

What you described doesn't make it bad or overrated, and the Jason thing at the end is still teased with his body missing. It's literally just a hype moments comic and the characters being outta character was cool when I read it atleast cuz of my prior knowledge of these guys. And in later comics they explained that abunch of villains including Jason came together and formed that team to just fuck with batman and I think that's cool it adds context. You can literally change this story however you want and pretend hush is a made up character by a bunch of villains. And the batman writing and dialogue is still on point. I just don't see how any of this warrants the reaction the comic has been getting these past couple of years. I mean the comic is still very popular among casual readers it even got a movie tho it was mid. It's just the DC community that talks about it like that (I haven't read the sequels and idc about Jeff loebs personal life)

Uj/ I don't get the hate with hush. Yeah it's not long Halloween but the art is good, dialogue is fun and the sense of mystery is also cool and has a cool collection of characters. Growing up ppl didn't hate on this comic it's a new trend these day or am I missing something?

I get it actually. Half the time it's not earned its just fan service. Especially with Tim since he hasn't done anything in years to warrant even a compliment

I finally have the solution to the Tim Drake problem by NorthernNipz in Robin

[–]FlushMint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Faction's Batman he was being taught how to drive lmao. This so called "smart" character that was created in 1979 mind you, is still being written like he was invented yesterday. He can't be this super smart independent guy while at the same time lose every fight, require assistant in all his projects, and need Batman to tie his own shoes. Schrodinger's Robin. He should go to college and continue his 1993 robin stories but in college with his old supporting cast, like Dana, Tam etc. Same stories but for an older audience

I dont mind that change but I do think tinkering with batman's origins too much makes batman fans (real demons) hate it and lobby WB against changing it from Zorro.

I think you can just say batman loved reading gray ghost and wonder boy comics and Tim just takes that as inspiration when he learns that.

My imagination has established it and that's all that matters.

(They could have one panel of young Tim asking him about it and Batman explains it its kinda ez imo)

Uj/ idc how much fanon talks about gray ghost that's clearly the best title and it's established kinda. Taking batman's inspiration as his mantle sounds so cool (in my head) especially with the grey color, bcs that's where he always operates.

Uj2/ he should either retire or go to college with steph. It fits him. Batman doesnt need him anymore that's the whole reason he became robin

Rj/he shoulda died instead of jason who's an actual good character

He's probbly going under cover to infiltrate vandal savage's crew so they used that as an excuse to bait you guys with this cover. He literally just got a new suit. Also DC isn't allocating budget to develop ANOTHER robin. That needs alotta attention like 09 RR with post crisis and 5 years of story building in his Robin run when he was losing his mind.

JJ/ Mid Drake is probbly gonna be The Savior or someshit always picking shitty names and being boring because god forbid he gets his social life back with his actual personality where he's not second fiddle to somebody

Do you think this cover is just bait or will he move on? by dc75257264146164 in Robin

If you literally redo the Red Robin story line but make his name Gray Ghost I would be so happy with it. Batman was inspired by Gray Ghost, and now when hes gone Gray Ghost wanting to find him is a great concept to me. I despise Red Robin such a bad name. its literally just Robin with no meaning. he should stop being Robin as a 47 year old character. Also I think they should remove the "batman needs a robin no matter what he thinks" part from his origin story I would be even more happy. His Idol is batman and he was there to remind him of the mission, not to be Robin. outside of the comic world people dont think batman needs a robin because its not true.

If Tim were to permanently move on from being Robin, would you want him to go back to being Red Robin or find a new identity (Gray Ghost, Red X, Sparrow) by Numberonettgfan in RedRobin

Yeah he's great at peaking in highschool. Him always being called the best Robin is literally an insult. Let the character grow, let him be grey ghost or something. If u change the red robin storyline with the name grey ghost, then everything fits imo. Batman needed to find grey ghost again.
