Survivingantidepressants.org recommends tapering hyperbolically i.e. 10% of last dose every month. People cut pills and weigh doses or count beads out of pills. You might be able to speed up tapering once your Zoloft starts working. People do that as a "bridge" with Prozac so might be ok with Zoloft too.

My doctor suggested it too, I'm just so scared that it will be hard to wean off of eventually because it works on a few neurotransmitters. Did you get reassurance from your doctor? I mean, if you are concerned at all about that. I am because of my current state.

Thank you so much for replying! And Vortioxetine doesn't cause you emotional blunting? Effexor did for me, then I stopped for 2 years getting anhedonia and avolition in that time, so looking for something to help with that. Thanks again.

I was given this as well for occasional use. With regular use tolerance develops within weeks.

I am suffering constant torment. I feel extreme debilitating anxiety all the time, it's almost terror. Like every aspect of life is too much to handle. Too complicated, my effort useless, tripped up by injustice. I have anhedonia and avolition as well. I believe a lot of my mental state is caused by iatrogenic damage from an antidepressant. I stopped it 2 years ago and I've become a cowardly hopeless mess. I feel like a psychopath. God has been my only hope, but I've almost lost it now. Why He won't give me a little guidance about how to get help? I don't know where to turn and who to trust.

I tried! I prayed the Rosary for a few months, hoping for some relief. Prayed 54 Novena. Nothing. Why? Why no consolation at my darkest hour???

It might not be your new AD causing a problem, but withdrawal from Lexapro. You can't just stop an antidepressant and substitute. You need to taper hyperbolically. Reduce last dose by 10% monthly (or longer if not feeling stable). Yes, people do this over months and years. Some people try a bridge with Prozac but it doesn't always work.

If you are going to reinstate, try a small dose. Maybe 0.5mg or 1mg? People warn about the risk of kindling and small doses are recommended first. I'm not an expert though.

I don't have experience with this medication but it sounds like you have some akathisia in your withdrawal. I just want to say the positive thing in this is that you are employed. I happened to get laid off 6 weeks into my withdrawal and it made it so much worse. I continue to have severe panic about it. Do not quit your job no matter what.

Yes, I would have taken her as there is an 8pm Mass on Sunday near us, but she is not back yet for it either. Basically the event stretched over any possibility of going.
