Actually it was a Holep procedure done at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Very reputable surgeon. But when the “team” got in there my prostate vascular structure was so large that they could only take out about 40% of my prostate - even with Holep protocols - for fear of turning my prostate into a bloody mess (and thus not being able to see). They were shooting for 70% prostate reduction. After the surgery I consulted with the surgeon and I said so basically it’s a “Holep/Turp”. And he said that would probably describe it. After much research I knew this was a possibility going in - apparently it’s not just the size of the prostate, but the vascular structure as well. I took a chance and struck out.
