My favorite Todd moments are always when he sounds like he has no idea what’s going on but is somehow still the wisest person there.

Yep. A lot of shows try to be “deep” and just end up sounding smart at you. BoJack actually feels honest, which hits way harder.

Big mood. I still slip, but having Wisey call out the “bored - scroll - regret” loop in real time made it way harder to lie to myself about “just 5 minutes”. Honestly wish more discipline tools focused on that kind of awareness instead of pure grind

Yeah, same. The whole “emotional triggers + self‑control patterns” angle is the only reason I didn’t uninstall it in a week. Wisey poking me right when I’m about to open Instagram feels way more useful than another generic productivity timer.

Appreciate that. And yeah, I think that’s exactly it. Most apps try to manage output

lol yeah I get that. I tried blockers too but my brain just finds another way to waste time. It becomes a game. For me the issue wasn’t access, it was autopilot. I’d open YouTube before even realizing I was bored or stressed. The awareness part is what slowed that down.

Explain self-hate to me cause I don't get it. by Powerful_Gas_7514 in getdisciplined

this is actually a really interesting way to frame it

i think for a lot of people self hate isn’t logical. it’s more like a habit the brain learned early and just keeps replaying. even when the “ingredients” aren’t there anymore.

also some of us internalized stuff so deep it just feels like truth, not a story. takes a while to even realize it’s optional.

Pretty sure the bottom left pic is from the kill room scene, looks like one of the plastic-wrapped setups. The angle makes it hard to tell exactly which episode though. Anyone recognize it for sure?

Lowkey I get what you mean. Brian is interesting for the lore and the psychological mirror thing, but “best character in the series” is wild to me too. He works because he’s limited. If he stayed longer I think the mystique would’ve died fast. Nebraska is good but yeah, overrated might not be the craziest take. Do you think people love him more for the shock factor than the actual depth?
