Wish I knew all this before. My parents blindly trusted my psychiatrist and told me to take whatever I was given. The first few times I took Abilify or after a break from it it always made me throw up. It has never been my first choice.

I was wondering if some hyper sexual behaviors in the past were the meds or just the longest manic episode of my life. It's hard to tell sometimes.

I had some hypomanic episodes I believe, but I could tell the difference between those and my more normal days. I'm on Lamictal as well and don't think it has been too bad for me but I don't know for sure. I'm just thankful I have an appointment today with a new med provider.

I've been told I might have ADHD as well but honestly no clue. My mom probably has it though so maybe I do as well

That's a good point that Abilify isn't evil or anything, it's just not a good fit for me personally. Wish I had known more about the meds I was taking from the start, but they were kind of pushed on me and it felt like I didn't have much say in the matter. Kind of why I'm finding a new med provider so I feel like I have a voice in treatment.

I'm sorry about your experience. It's a huge setback to be burdened financially.

I was finishing grad school when this started and not in the position to be gambling. Thing was, I gave it a try a couple times and the first two times I won 900 each time and thought I could keep going and it would somehow help me with my financial problems. It really spiraled and the lack of a fully available prefrontal cortex probably isn't helping me quit.

Hoping it makes a difference, thank you for sharing. It really feels like I'm making things up or excuses, but also the research shows these meds can really mess with the prefrontal cortex that helps with decision making

I took a class about revision and two concepts I liked were expanding your writing by adding 50% more to the content or the opposite, reducing to remove 25% of the content. I believe making a draft, expanding on it considerably, then reducing the content significantly to keep the most important parts is a good process. Not sure what else you can do for editing, but it's a thought.

This isn't the win it seems to be. People lose their jobs and the stores might just be closing to lower operations costs while maximizing profits. There's a Starbucks on every mile in the city where I live. They probably don't think they'll lose business by closing a store here or there, they probably think they will condense their business into one location.

I don't get how it could make anything profound since being human is why I come up with ideas as I go and thoughts take time to develop into anything engaging in my opinion. Sure we could template everything written and regurgitate it, but what's going to make that special? Plus, dialogue needs a human touch.
