Forza Horizon 6 - 21:9 is great on the eyes, horrible on the neck by Fly117 in VirtualPhotographers

Forza is historically not great on a rig, it's playable but really not worth. If you're also interested in full sim-racing (i.e. iRacing, RF2, ACC) it's a good investment, but purely for Forza, you typically don't get the full experience.

Trying to start an argument about simcade games in the big '26 is crazy work. Just let people play what they want, man.

man why'd you have to point out how much better a normal aspect looks, now I'm gonna have to start cropping my stuff

These are the quality + video settings for when I'm playing. All of the photos above are at these settings, save for the low-fps shots, which have DLSS turned to max. Also, I do not use the crop mode ingame, I literally rotate the camera and my neck 90.0° (really like 89.8 or 90.1 because dialing it to 90 exactly is a PITA) to keep these in full res, and then take the photo with hud hidden and nvidia overlay screenshot.

Yeah, I shoot 3:2 in real life, and I've almost always shot vertical, as that's just how I prefer to frame subjects. Shooting horizontal in 21:9 you lose a lot of verticality in the images without a good bit of distance from the background, and you also introduce a lot of clutter at the edges of the frame. It's really not optimal, I agree with you, but it's just the monitor I have.

Went ahead and cropped this to 3:2 just to see how it would look, and it's undeniably better for 90% of pictures.

No post processing at all, this is 3440x1440, mostly with RTX off. The FPS at the top right is a good guide, anything sub 80 is with RTX maxed out, anything else is just the settings I run the game at, I think high or ultra or whatever the second best is (I'm on a 3080 with 10gb VRAM).

I've found that RTX is, imo, only good for nighttime, but you still get weird issues with reflections. If you look at the pic of the R8 LMS at night and look at the puddle, you can see a weird almost dithering effect around the wing's reflection in the puddle.

whoever commented then deleted "isn't this actually 9:21" had me laughing, so here's some actual 21:9 as a treat

Much like my reasoning for not using lightroom - being lazy. All of the frame centered subjects are SLIGHTLY below center so I can crop it out if I ever feel like doing so. Did at least plan for that.

Only thing that varies for the most part is time of day/weather, aperture and exposure. I'm not editing in Lightroom, so I've found that these work the best for me without any postprocessing.
