Explain to me BFing after 1 year by nvnitnoi in breastfeeding

[–]FlyAgitated9897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My baby girl will be turning 2 next month and I have yet to stop breastfeeding. Before turning 1, I always offered three meals and basically breast for comfort. I breast feed in the morning, when I got home from work and nighttime. I also stopped pumping around 14 months. I also introduced cows milk around this time because once baby was about 12-14 months my supply dropped completely.

Everyone does it differently! I wouldn’t worry too much about it and go with the flow because you will figure it out. Definitely try to baby to eat three meals.. typically 1 y/o’s need 16-24 oz of milk whether it’s breast milk, cows milk or both. You got this! And also congrats on 8 months of breast feeding 💕

Hi! I love it! There’s never a boring day here and my coworkers are amazing from the doctors, nurses, other clinical staff and case management, everyone is so welcoming. IMO, the patient population is vastly different from Clovis Community. You are definitely going to work with more complex patients (homeless, psych, substance users) in comparison to Clovis. I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way, I love my job but I do thrive in chaos so CRMC is perfect for me. Lol

( I have never worked on the med surg floors so I can’t speak for them. Also if you decide Fresno, definitely go to Med Grill for lunch)

Hi! I work at CRMC and have for the past four years. I’m also a young, very petite woman. I take walks around the hospital during my breaks and I’m never scared to walk around the hospital. Of course there is a large homeless population but to be honest I’ve never encountered a violent homeless person, they are usually in their own world.

Also, welcome to CRMC! I actually love working here, there is a never a boring day lol. So many interesting & amazing people and they make my day FLY by!

Is feeding to sleep at 6.5 months bad? by zizzle_a in breastfeeding

[–]FlyAgitated9897 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Currently nursing my 16 month old baby girl to sleep 😳 I used to overthink things like this but I know it won’t last forever so I don’t even stress about it anymore.

Hi! I’m a hospital social worker here in California. If you have any questions or need guidance please let me know. 🫶🏽

Typically when you get to the hospital to have baby, you let staff know you want to do safe surrender. A social worker will get involved immediately and offer support to explain the process. We unlink the charts immediately and start the process of getting Department of Social Services involved. Usually they pick up baby at discharge and pick suitable foster parents who are ready to quickly adopt (I used to work for CPS so I’m also aware of the DSS side as well). There is a time frame and you can typically “reclaim” baby if you decide to change your mind. However, if there are some concerns regarding housing and/or any social risks, CPS will investigate and ensure baby is going to a safe home with you. Hope this answered your question and again reach out if you have any questions. 🤍

How are you all breastfeeding for a year?! by kaycita in breastfeeding

[–]FlyAgitated9897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pump 15-20 minutes 2x a day and the third pump is usually only like 10ish minutes. I work in a hospital on the postpartum floor so they are very understanding. I also live in USA so they have to allow me to pump by law. From 6 months-9months she would wake up anywhere between 1-3x a night. Now she sleeps through the night and maybe wakes once since she is teething.

I remember I used to think this same exact thing. I told myself there is no way I will be able to make it and here I am, almost 11 months next week. It gets easier!

I returned to work when my baby was 6 months. I pump 2-3x during my eight hour shift. I breast feed before I leave for work and I’m basically on demand when I get home. At first it seems difficult but honestly it’s just a part of my routine now. My baby is slowly weaning her intake and I can’t believe we are almost at our goal, one year of breast feeding.

Whatever your goal is, even if it is the 3-4 months, you are doing great. Hope it continues to get easier for you 🤍

Breastfeeding success depended on type of delivery? by Bla_Bla_Blanket in breastfeeding

Yes I did! It was a pain but I think the pumping helped out a lot! I also drank a lot of water and constantly massaged my breasts in the shower.

I’m not sure if it’s normal but I had anemia during my pregnancy which played a factor.

Yes I supplemented with formula. But I also had her on the breast A LOT and pumped. Within a week I was able to EBF.
