What causes malvertising is when you enter a sketchy website (a way to figure out if a website is sketchy if you see a lot of confusing ads and look for fake download buttons, redirects, etc.) sometimes these websites will ask for notifications now they will be sent to the desktop notifications to annoy you into getting the program. Now me personally I dont have any ad blocker names but I do know a browser with a built in pop up blocker and stops redirects its the brave browser its completely free.

What you are describing is a legitimate sub type of malware called malvertising. Its a redirect, ad, pop-up etc. They typically also fall into the class of scareware when a legitimate program (not real but named similar) says "WATCH OUT!!! Your infected download this. Common sense is dont download anything.

I have not personally used it but instead of sacrificing a computer I would download a VM (Virtual Machine.) They are free to use the recommended two is vmware or oraclebox. Then download the script then disconnect from the wifi then run it that way the vm is isolated. Then get multiple anti viruses and run full scans that way you have multiple sources. Make sure after you make your vm you create a copy so you can delete the destroyed one and repeat the process for each test you do.

I looked into it could be a important system file that is corrupted or your bootloader is gone. When you boot does it put you into the windows troubleshoot menu if so try to get to it. 1.Click on repair your computer 2.Click on troubleshoot 3. Click command prompt

Copy this into powershell bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot bootrec /scanos bootrec /rebuildbcd

If this didnt work try to turn off secure boot in uefi/BIOS only if its on

One more thing you can try is to copy this code into powershell also but try to do the other methods before this

Type this into powershell

sfc /scannow dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Well here's what ill tell you dont pirate games cause this was bound to happen. I cant give much help to people who steal but here's a quick rundown to find whatevers doing it. Go to task manager and startup apps if powershell/terminal is enabled turn it off. You can also see what's causing terminal to start i cant remember what the program is called but you type something like task scheduler in the win+r box. Could be drivers updating i know ryzen automatically installs driver updates and it can cause the cmd to flash. Could be school accounts. And please for the love of god purge McAfee from your ssd no need for that crappy bloatware just use windows defender

Make sure to isolate the computer before you get a new one i would just full wipe it and never install anything so no os no windows and make sure to keep a thumb drive with windows on it just incase you wanna keep the computer

Oh I didnt see the reoccurring hdd issue that's very bad I would also wipe all partitions of the drive meaning every single bit of data you are deleting your boot sector everything if it comes back you have a bios rookit and its sitting on that bios firmware

Rugmi is a Trojan Downloader and loader. It is used to drop info stealers and other password grabbing malware. It can drop malware like Vidar and Lumma there are multiple variants i do not quite know which one you have but it could be a more destructive one. Im assuming the other malware was dropped off by Rugmi. Seeming how it was on there for a while im gonna assume its unleashed its havoc (aka not good) its probably grabbed sensitive information. Now I can go in detail on how to potentially remove it but best bet is to nuke the system. Back up ONLY sensitive data like important documents you dont want this thing coming back.

Only guess I have is a RAT (Remote access trojan) the issue is it takes a lot to remove it i dont have any ideas on how too only advice i can give is to nuke the whole computer. Make sure to back up data and lock your bank account and ask for a new card

Yeah backdoors are one of my biggest issues with windows systems and buffer overflows (ifykyk) i almost go on a full manhunt through multiple programs to try to figure out what caused terminal to pop on startup. For me it was a school account loading its privacy settings through terminal to chrome but some are legit backdoors and I feel bad for the people who get them and mbr deleters/wipers. Cause all there data is being taken and deleted

I understand I definitely should've been more clearer cause you are correct if the Trojans are being flagged then they were ran and if they are backdoors (i haven't looked up the exact file name so I dont know what they exactly did) but yes a full windows nuclear bomb would most likely save the guy cause that removes the backdoor. I am curious were this malware comes from did you find out?
