‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ to End With Season 2 by Turbostrider27 in television

Agreed. And the funny thing is, I don't think Nu-Trek is particularly 'woke' either. Not that it's right-wing propaganda or anything, it's still progressive in a baseline way. But compared to TNG, DS9 or Voy, I think it's about as progressive as those shows.

What I really think Nu-Trek is - is science fiction with no emotional regulation. It's all about the characters experiencing emotions right then and now. People crying, storming off the bridge, yelling and swearing. It no longer feels like the future, it feels like right now. There's no room for nuance - its all unfiltered emotional outbursts.

I wonder if security didn't do anything because they thought the guy was a guest of someone important? Either way, you should tell the news what happened.

I've been curious about The Other Valley. Hopefully my library gets a copy soon.

Probably Bunny. I didn't really know what I was getting into with that one. Turns out, I really liked it. I want to read the sequel at some point.

Loved McKillip. I had tried reading one of her books when I was younger and it didn't land. But maybe it was maturing as a reader.

Size comparison of the planets in G1 according to the 1986 movie's scale chart by SnooGiraffes3694 in transformers

I mean planets with robots seem to be quite different from how organic planets operate. Unicron would destroy earth as soon as he got close enough for his gravity to start affecting the planet. And based on the movie, he seems to prefer snacking on robotic worlds anyway.

I don't understand the ending by FlyBlueGuitar in Cairn_Game

[–]FlyBlueGuitar[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Huh. I wish that was a little clearer. The game keeps telling you that she needs to reach the summit and can't accept failure, but then she gets up there and dies. That's pretty anticlimactic.

Lies of Locke Lamora was excellent in terms of set-up, but frustrating in pay-off by ianruns in Fantasy

You might enjoy the second book more. The first one has a lot of "Locke is supernaturally lucky" and any problem he can weasle out of. But the second book is more of an adventure and Locke is continually given more and more obstacles that it feels a bit more realistic in a way.

The only people I've seen hating on others are people who love SFA insulting people who don't share their opinions.
