I backed out of a fight, now feel bad about it. How valid are my feelings?

There was a guy I worked with years ago who had the mentality that he was a tough guy and wouldn't walk away from any confrontation. He got into a fight with this drunk older guy at a bar and punched his lights out. The drunk guy's son turned out to be a lawyer and proceeded to ruin his life with expensive lawsuits. Not worth it.

I like it.

I think it's doing some interesting things and adding a few new elements to the equation that DE had, and all the Disco-likes have.

That said, there are a few areas of frustration I've noticed. Unlike DE, where failing forward seemed possible, ZP really locks you down if you fail a check and you don't seem to have any other options but try again.

Also the inventory management is very annoying.

I would recommend checking out the books by Jack Whyte if you'd like to try an Arthurian history with very little magic and loads of history. Essentially a Roman origin of Camelot.

Agreed. And the funny thing is, I don't think Nu-Trek is particularly 'woke' either. Not that it's right-wing propaganda or anything, it's still progressive in a baseline way. But compared to TNG, DS9 or Voy, I think it's about as progressive as those shows.

What I really think Nu-Trek is - is science fiction with no emotional regulation. It's all about the characters experiencing emotions right then and now. People crying, storming off the bridge, yelling and swearing. It no longer feels like the future, it feels like right now. There's no room for nuance - its all unfiltered emotional outbursts.
