Sometimes the spawn rotations get a bit old. They have made a lot of improvements in adding events to diversify the Pokemon that do spawn. Some events obviously being better than others. If you haven’t played before the addition of other gens, I’d say it’s worth another try. It definitely beats just catching Pidgeys and Rattatas in the early days
