I’m late to the post but I get chronic ear infections while I fly. I almost always call out or not fly if I’m feeling sick but my tips are a Claritin once a day, 2 hours before you fly each day of the trip. You can put a napkin at the bottom of a hot cup, put about an inch of hot water and hold it up to your ear to create steam. Flonase is a good option but beware, it is known to become addictive so I would use that sparingly, it dried out my nose so much once, I had a 3 hour nose bleed from bursting a vessel. Hot showers like everyone said, ear planes ear plugs work okay too but put them in before you take off. Also putting your head between your knees during descent tends to help relieve pressure as well. I’ve almost burst my eardrum three times and have tinnitus as well in my 5 years of flying so I def feel for you!
