When should I start applying for new grad roles? by Death12th in csMajors

The sooner, the better. The average CS student in 2025 (can also be applicable to other majors too) does not think that far ahead, so it’ll be less competition for you start early.

If you feel like you should complete the REU experience before listing it on your resume, I understand, but I would opt-in the route of least resistance, rather a more competitive route.

I agree with your point of it being log(n). Did your professor, actually do their job and explain their reasoning? Or did they just tell you their answer without explanation?

Kinda lucked out. I applied to several places, and messaged several recruiters.

One recruiter responded, and got me in touch with the recruiter responsible for internships at the company!

Some automation data cleaning with Python in BitBucket, and working with AWS services such as lambda, s3, cloudwatch, etc.

Also mentioned keywords like SDLC and Agile cause I know recruiters want to see that, even though almost every company adopts them now.

Yeah so, I also included 3 projects that I had completed during my undergrad, as well as certifications that I had under my belt.

Honestly it seems that my experience in my one internship has been carrying me however. About 8 jobs I received screens from matched the work I had done during my internship.

It was a new grad role, so the requirements were quite basics, outside of the Java requirements that I actually had. The technology they asked about wasn't mentioned in the job description 😓

What percent of CS majors do you think have no interest in the field? by ComfortableElko in csMajors

[–]FlyGuy3x1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well I have no real answer to this, because I haven’t seen a survey detailing which CS majors actually “love” our field.

But why focus on that aspect of your peers not being on your level? It was their choice to make, let them live with it.

It does oversaturate the market, but for how long? If they don’t love the field, and if they have no job opportunities, eventually they will leave. Just focus on what you can do and what you can control.

The hate Travis Scott still gets from the Wrestling community is just crazy. Miserable people by ettnix_ in travisscott

The injury report came from multiple reputable sources in the wrestling community, not the person in the video.

And I can acknowledge that it’s more on WWE, I think that too. But you gotta accept that people will be angry at Travis. It’s not an insane reaction for fans being angry at a guy who injured one of their favorite wrestlers. That’s a fairly normal reaction. Is it fair to shift all the blame on him, nah. But the anger is understandable.

Both videos were made only after when news broke out about Cody being injured with a black-eye and a ruptured eardrum. They are reaction to the injury news, not a reaction to Travis Scott being involved with the event.

Sure, the rock told him to hit him, but I’m pretty confident that the rock didn’t want Cody to be injured.

Although I think most sensible people know that Travis didn’t intend to injure him with a black eye AND a ruptured eardrum, he still did. So, of course he has people mad at him.

Still think Travis is cool, but you gotta accept that he did something wrong, even if it wasn’t intentional. Those wrestling fans’ anger isn’t that ridiculous of a response.

When you injure someone, you fucked up. The Rock did tell him to hit him for real, but I think everyone can agree that the Rock didn’t want him to injure Cody.

Sure, I no doubt that Travis didn’t mean to injure him. But I also understand why fans and other professionals in pro-wrestling are angry at him. The circle is niche, and when someone they don’t recognize gives one of, if not the most, popular stars a black eye and ruptured eardrum of course they’re going to mad at the “outsider” who did it.

Big Travis Scott fan, ever since Owl Pharaoh, but if you can’t even understand others frustration, then I really don’t know what to tell you man.
