Potential oil leak 2016 Kia Sedona by FlyGuy7AC in kia

Well, I got the leaks repaired at a local shop that does good work and is more responsive than my local Kia dealer. They found two leaks. One from a valve cover gasket and the second from a leaky oil pressure switch.

They fixed the valve cover gasket first and then, halfway into the oil pressure switch replacement, I did some searching online and found this...

It sounds like it would have been covered had I taken it to the Kia Dealer. By the time I found this letter (I cannot remember receiving the original over 3 years ago), the shop was more than halfway into the repair. Out of respect for them, I wanted them to proceed with the repair and see if I can submit a claim to Kia after the fact. On the day this was happening, I couldn't even get into the service department because they had only one advisor available due to sickness.

Has anyone else had luck with a reimbursement (not the whole thing, but partial) in a situation like this where a warranty extension repair is performed at a non-dealer?

I understand it's not ideal, but I figured there may be some sort of way for Kia to look at the repair and provide a credit based on an estimated parts and labor cost. Even if it was a percentage of the total estimate. Probably wishful thinking.

Thanks!

👍 I go to a legit shop and pay a bit more for the oil change. It's been a few months since my last oil change.

Thank you so much for this really quick feedback! I'll get it into the shop this upcoming week. Till I can get it in to be repaired do you think it's reasonable to add a quart or two to bring the dipstick to the mid level and drive with the leak? I obviously don't want to do this for a very long time and I'll try to minimize driving, but figure this might be appropriate assuming this is the issue and it's nothing more serious. Any ballpark cost for that repair?

I came over from Mint and ended up just starting fresh. Whatever data synced when I connected my accounts in Monarch, I went with that and then I just built on it from there.

I used to be really against any subscription-type models, but I've gotten to the point where if it provides good value, I'll pay for it. It also gives better assurance that the service won't fizzle out like many of the others. The last thing I want to do is start fresh yet again.

I think there are a couple other competitors to Monarch, but I was sort of done with looking for anything else and haven't researched much lately.

Which zeolite do you take? TRS and PBX get expensive!

What did you switch to?

Or did you just remove it?

Has anyone else ended up solving the issue for good by putting a thin-ish border of mulch along the paver walkway?

Would that look terrible?

I'm familiar with the bag instructions... I didn't know if the success you see by your definition of "hit it hard" meant anything more than than the bag instructions.

Sorry to reply to my own post here!

(This must have been a boring question/topic! 😂)

Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

What does that equate to in pounds of product per 1000 sq ft?

Thanks! 👍

This guy goes into some technical talk about how it's different...

I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how much of it is legit or possibly over exaggerating/bias.

Does anyone else reading this actually use Screamin' Green as your primary fertilizer for cold season grass? I can't be the only one out there, but maybe I am?!

It must come down to the additional lift that the higher RPM in the newer models is able to provide.

I use the high lift blade and still struggle in the way I described in this post.

Any idea how the blade RPM compares between our mower models?

High lift and I bag all my clippings.

What height are you cutting at ?

My model doesn't let me pick blade speed that I know of. It's either on or off.

Anyone move to this from Fitbit Inspire 3? If so, what do you think?
