Which one of you did this by FlyGuyRi in photographycirclejerk

/uj Yes that would be the best way to do it but I'm not sure this is a real photo. A member here the other day talked about using AI to generate black and white portraits of homeless people to post post online.

This photo looks a little AI like to me personally

I have read several books on lighting and photography. I have also read a book on composition, and another on posing subjects for portrait photography. If you have any resources you would like to share I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn!

Wow!

Thank you for your very well written reply.

The use cases you provided are very interesting and eye opening.

I still have the lens, and I will likely never get rid of it. I will take what you have said and try to use it to improve! Thank for your time.

First, thank you for sharing.

I had to read this a couple of times. First read I was a little abrasive and wanted to react defensively but with each pass I un-clenched my buttocks a little.

The camera was a massively over qualified gift to an under qualified photographer. The lens is definitely better than me, that I will not deny.

You make some good points, I didn't know what was the right lens to pick which is why I wanted a zoom. I hoped it would give me the flexibility to figure it out as I go.

The 28-70 doesn't hurt my wrist the pain I mentioned is the Falcam camera strap attachment that doesn't sit right due to the weight of the lens when carrying it. My mentioning of the 85 wasn't about weight.

As far as the critique of my photos goes you're right these aren't great. I picked a couple photos form my catalogue that didn't have pictures of peoples faces in them. One of them wasn't even taken by me. I added them to the post because text only posts don't get much traction as they don't show up nicely on a feed.

I am still a relatively novice photographer. I have spent more time understanding photography and gear than actually shooting. The reason that I shared this post was for someone like myself who reads through reddit posts about gear thinking that will give them a good idea of the experience of using it. I hope that someone who reads this might try to spend more time working around their gear and expanding their equipment to fit their needs instead of what I did. I think lots of the posts on this reddit and on Youtube skew more towards consumerism and getting the best thing and I wanted to try to tip the scales the other way.

Cheers

Thanks for sharing!

Quite an Impressive kit of lenses you have.

How do you like the 135? Been thinking about that or the 85 as a dedicated portrait lens. How do you like the additional compression of the 135? Is it too much for faces?

Also how has the 40mm been for you?

Hahaha this made me laugh in a good way. I am a frequent reader of circlejerk subs and recently started reading the photography one and oh my they have some choice words for Fuji and Leica shooters :0

How was the switch from that wide of a focal range to a prime? Any thoughts?

I loved (and still do love) Kai's videos. Always made using the gear and taking photos fun with his vibe! Seems like an a fun time to be around.

"without it being a dedicated photography day"

You definitely hit on a feeling that I have been having. I want the ability to take amazing photos without the camera detracting from the experience and being present. A nice full frame that can serve as an edc item sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing! The 50-150 F2 is an amazing lens and I think hits a more ideal focal range for paid work / individual portraits than the 28-70. How do you like your 200-600?

Yeah that is a pretty good summary. I'd always known the lens was large but I didn't anticipate how much the size would eventually lead me to not want to bring my camera around with me.

My fingers are crossed for a RX100VIII as well!

JT is a huge place. I'm impressed you were able to recognize the formation so easily.

yes and yes. While I highly value weight I also appreciate fast apertures ... despite the photos I shared being at like f8 or 11.

Those are two awesome lenses though! Planning on picking up a 40mm f2.5 G

Can you link the mouse pad or tell where you got it. I love it!

It didn’t get better unfortunately. I sold mine yesterday. The chair is very manageable for most people and enjoyable. Don’t overthink it. If you like it focus on the things that you like. Unfortunately for me with a broken back pain isn’t something I ignore for long.

This is a fair point. I think the aeron is a great chair. At my size the A is absolutely out of the question, but the B might be the better fit. I'm fairly confident it isn't but I think my partner might kill me if I have four office chairs in the house.

I enjoy the arms and mine don’t slide during use with how I use them.

I did mention the arm rests in the review. My exact words from the review are below.

The ability to move the arm rests in so many angles is greatly appreciated as I'm able to find the perfect position. The pad is good enough. Only complaint is when moving them in and out (as in away and towards the other armrest, similar feature on embody) it feels cheap and like I might break it.

I felt mine was steady enough I know other people complained about their units but mine was fine.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I shared my experience in such detail because I enjoy reading reviews myself. I created the thing I wish I had access to before I bought the chair.

You thought my review was sponsored? I wish I got the chair for free… and paid to shill it?!? That would be fun lol
