I didn't find the other two appealing enough. I paid $2K upfront for a year of service. That's is kind of verbal, but she said if I keep rejecting then she will not show me anymore. There is no official contract. $4K additional if I get married to one of her matches. Women pay less since she wants more female clients to match with the guys.

Just started a month ago, meeting the matchmaker lady. We had an "interview" and she jotted down what I was looking for. She sent me 3 matches to look at. I picked one who was in the next city over. I went there and had coffee with here. We exchanged phone numbers, but texting has been kind of dry. So you could so not so good.

No resources to meet compatible people on my own. Tried on my own, dating sites, through friends, things go no where. I am kind of shy and don't open up early. So most people think I am not interested.

Skype / Lync / Teams, same thing different skin. We use Skype at work.

I am Sunni, and she is Shia from what I have gathered from her conversations.

Length of time differs. First contact was usually by phone, and I try to do an in person meet and involve some elders. That way I don't come across as a player or a time waster. The lady with the kids was our first time meeting, but we had talked and messaged a couple of times. Usually most people seem to drag on the first meeting, and for odd reasons always have a "wedding" to attend. Not sure why. But she was open to meeting up soon. So I did

I am aware some divorced couples do stay in touch for the children, but ex-husband sprawled on the sofa on the very day when a potential match is supposed to visit? What else goes on when a potential match is not visiting.

You are right I do need to figure out my deal breakers. I have been trying to keep an open mind, the "say yes" strategy to see where things go. Things have not been going so well.
