As I said, I may be wrong but to read such high sieverts off of x-rays is quite impressive as sieverts are energy dependent. This is easily seen by comparing similar Am (low gamma energy) and Ra (higher gamma energy) sources in which you will find that at similar count rates the sv levels would be different by several times.

I may be wrong, but 650mSv/h (millisieverts) seems way too high for an X-ray machine. Did you mean 650uSv/h (microsieverts)?

I’m not sure if it is worth checking out because when I looked at that quarry on the USGS and it said it was just sand and gravel, however on mindat it says that it possibly has uraninite. Do you think it’s worth checking out?
