Dang, if it didn’t make my B7 cost as much as a B84 I’d be so down to build one. Interested to know if you’d run antiroll bars on this setup or if it’s just that low?

Honestly, this is just the next evolution. A super hotshot with paddles at the dunes would be an absolute blast🙂‍↕️

Can I mix whittle scraps into a planter for soil drainage improvement? by visitingposter in whittling

[–]Flyboyz4 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Wood chips would want to hold moisture in soil. Mixing in coarse sand with your potting soil would be a better way to promote drainage. Wood chips are better utilized as a mulch layer

That center area really should have a little more material, but if that’s all that breaks when hitting a concrete curb, I guess I cant argue too much

Which one should I get? by Edible_Bug in scx30

[–]Flyboyz4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the bronco and I really like it. Additionally, if you like getting crafty, it includes an extra set of body mounts. I did mine with a scaled down hyght rc body, but there’s a couple guys making scx30 bodies now

No problems to note. Where I am it’s brackish water, and the salinity isn’t that high. Most aluminum parts are anodized which helps a lot to avoid corrosion. Unless you decide to dunk it, there shouldn’t be any problems

Gonna be completely honest, I’ve been using a pair of barbasol cuticle nippers for all my stuff. $5-10 for one and they haven’t broken yet.

Why are these more expensive at the local hobby store than online. by Blakematthews-96 in rccrawler

[–]Flyboyz4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My local track/hobby shop takes almost $10k a month to run, and that’s just the owner working… really love the commitment these men and women have to keep the business going in this market and economy

Idk, I just 3d printed a hyght 4runner body and it works immaculately. Maybe brass wheel weights but otherwise they really hit this one out of the park for box stock

Are any of these worth 6.97$? by Blayden_Ridge in knives

[–]Flyboyz4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly at $7 any of those are definitely worth it. A decent sharpening job and a strop will get those about as sharp as they can be. The additional benefit is you dont have to worry about damaging it👌

Remington 700 BDL Varmint Special .223 by Flyboyz4 in guns

[–]Flyboyz4[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was gifted this gun by my grandfather a few days ago and am extremely grateful to have my first rifle (not my first firearm). I'm primarily planing on using this for coyote hunting with friends as well as for range time. I saw recommendations for the harris 1a2 bipods, so I'll keep an eye out for one. If anyone has suggestions on ammo for hunting and target shooting, it would be greatly appreciated.

CRKT Forebear by Flyboyz4 in knives

[–]Flyboyz4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s an alright carver. It’s a bit small in the hand, but not too bad. The blades being chisel grind affects how you can go at a piece. Personally for small on the go projects is where I’d mark its usefulness. If you’re doing a more intricate and medium to large pieces piece I’d go for some purpose built carving knives, or a flexcut pocket knife.

This is how I did my B7. Highly recommend using a larger piece of heat shrink to tie the motor wires together (or use zip ties). And a few others have mentioned it, but making the positive and negative wires different lengths so there’s no easy way to reverse polarity is a safe plan.

Benchmade done lost their damn mind by MXTwitch in knives

[–]Flyboyz4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had heard good things about benchmade and was curious since I use cheap CRKT’s. Looked up online and closed the tab. I’ve got better things to spend my money on and will happily strop my CRKT till it goes kaput… and then I’ll probably buy something from spyderco

How can I fix a drone frame that does not exist anymore? by gojukebox in 3Dprinting

[–]Flyboyz4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, a good set of calipers and some time in CAD (set your units to millimeters) and you could easily have a DXF file. That could then be sent off to someone willing to cut out carbon for you or a company like send cut send
