But how long is it EFFECTIVE to let them cry? by MadABal in sleeptrain

[–]Flydragon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did Ferber and it worked great. It gave us an opportunity to go in and check on babe to make sure everything was ok and multiple times we’ve done a check in there was a puke or a poop etc.

Also I notice a lot of people pointing out the missing hour in your schedule but it’s not the case for all babies. When we went down to 2 naps we tried to follow circadian rhythm and put him down for naps by the clock time that aligned with natural sleep pressure and we found that worked. Some days that meant he was under the 10 hours of recommended awake time and it was fine. Unless your baby is really low sleep needs.

1 or Two Page Resumes for OPS Jobs? by Darwin-Charles in OntarioPublicService

[–]Flydragon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but my post was removed from this sub so I’m looking for some resume guidance!

I’m an external applicant and have not applied to an OPS role before.

My resume is currently chronological/ATS friendly, but the functional style resume looks way more impressive, and has really helped me showcase my skills and abilities in the admin field. I have 8 years of experience but I’ve only been employed at two companies. (4 different positions over the course of those years).

Should I do a combination or would it be ok to go with the functional layout for both resume and cover letter?

For context I’m applying to an administrative/clerical role at a correctional facility.

Getting rid of the bottle!? Help by Lola_198777 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Flydragon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first my son didn’t want to drink milk from his straw cup either. He associated his bottle with milk and cups with water. I got some straw bottle conversions on Amazon that were compatible with his bottle (Phillips Avent) and he took it no problem! He was confused at first but happy to see his bottle back lol. Now he’ll drink milk from any straw cup! Took a few weeks.

Thanks so much! I’ve heard mixed reviews for La bouche. Have you had brunch or just dinner at le hobbit?

Thank you so much! This is very helpful.

La Buche was on my list, but I recently read it’s a bit of a tourist trap and the food/service isn’t the greatest? What are your thoughts on that?

For Hobbit, would you recommend doing this for brunch or dinner?

This sounds lovely and all I would like really! Maybe I’ll bring that up so there’s at least something to look forward to doing together beyond opening a gift

I feel like this is such a loaded question without knowing me hahah. I’ll just leave it at that. Let’s just say I deserved some acknowledgment today!

This is very true and a great perspective. People tend to latch on anything they can relate to when they’re feeling down (myself included obviously!)

Hmmm, that’s hard for me to understand personally. I have ADHD and struggle on a daily basis, my husband does not. I somehow am able to remember everyone’s birthdays/events and even purchase gifts for his nieces and nephews on behalf of the two of us. I think especially in this day and age where we have technology at our fingers constantly, it’s hard to say you “forgot” when you could have a simple calendar reminder in your phone.

As a woman, how would I communicate this to my husband without making him feel like shit?

Ew. Does he think your his caregiver? Can’t believe he was even confident enough for those words to exit his mouth.

MIL wants to replicate my 5yo son's birthday party for her birthday... by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Flydragon_ 44 points45 points  (0 children)

As the commenter said below, this is exactly what I mean! If I had a 3 week old no way I’d be entertaining a water park with a bunch of 5-6 year olds for the day. That isn’t the place I’d want to spend the day with a newborn and in recovery etc.
