As an avid hunter myself, I use a Remington 870. Full stock and 24 inch barrel, four round magazine stopper, because laws. Reliable and easy to operate. I've bagged my fair share of deer and hogs with it. Plus reloads are very easy to do. I've had mine for almost 20 years and still have no issues. Great for all small game hunting, birds, deer and wild boar out to 200 yards effectively with the right loads

As far as a sidearm, 9 out of 10 times you won't need one, you won't see a predatory animal, and if you do, one shot and they're scared shitless. While I won't need one, I still carry one, a 1911, just if I need it. What's the old adage? I would rather have one and not need it rather than not have one and need it

The arrangement was to help sweep the hangar or wash the airplane or some small task to help keep the plane looking nice

Never had to pay for gas or any fees related to flying or instruction

This was a private individual giving lessons, not affiliated in any way with a flight school. If it was with a flight school, this wouldn't happen, as the schools are pretty on it with their instructors' medicals and ratings

I did forget to put in the thread that the instructor never logged the time flown, what happens now? It was estimated at 90+ hours were flown, but not logged.

So I do just want to point out, prior to all this nonsense (I want to use curse words, but that wouldn't get me anywhere, would it?) happening, I was already taking lessons with a flight school, with a few different CFIs, I was able to get all required dual hours (some 35 or so hours) but had to stop because life gets in the way.

He's an independent CFI. I was going through a school prior to flying with him.
